We were lucky to catch up with DANI recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, DANI thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?

When I was growing up, I had a love for the arts. I also had a tremendous amount of dysfunction and trauma, to have to navigate through, so I would write to escape, and be someone and some place else..

DANI, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am an Author, with a Memoir of faith, the need to hold on through the roughest, or should I say darkest of times..
I am Self published, and knew that my story had to be told.
After 18 long years of birthing, I have finally stepped out on faith and released the trauma that was never a good thing.
And in doing so it was cathartic, and has taken a life of it’s own..

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

After an unspeakable childhood, that left me battered, and bruised. Confused, and hurt. I reached out to escape, and had a few decades long battle with drug addiction.
This almost took my life. It consumed every fiber of my being: Spiritual, Mental, and Emotional, and through it all, a miracle was created: The Miracle is Me..
Somehow I found strength to endure it, overcome it and learn how to live.
Being Beautiful exuding light, and loving Life..

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

After COVID ravaged the Restaurant and Hospitality industry, and the restaurant I was head of back of the house in closed, I knew I had to change course.
I became stricken with COVID and a heart attack, and started dreaming again.
I knew I had a story, though I didn’t know how to Self publish, or any of those things.
But what I did know was: THE TIME WAS NOW to tell my story!
