We recently connected with DAngela Chase and have shared our conversation below.
DAngela, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
One of the most unexpected problems I faced was actually finding clarity in my own voice—which is ironic, because that’s now the core of what I help other women do.
When I first started my business, I was doing “all the right things.” Posting, promoting, showing up—but it felt like I was building someone else’s brand, not mine. I was blending in, not standing out. And it wasn’t because I wasn’t capable—it was because deep down, I hadn’t fully owned my story yet.
The moment that really shook me was during a launch. I had poured energy, time, and money into it, and…nothing. Barely any engagement. No sign-ups. I remember sitting in silence after it flopped, thinking, “I can’t keep doing this hustle-and-hope thing. Something has to shift.”
That’s when I stopped performing and started listening—to myself, to God, to what I actually wanted to say. I stripped it all back, revisited my own identity, and created the workbook that now anchors my entire brand: Elevate Your Essence
From there, things changed. I began attracting women who were in the same stuck place I had been—but this time, I had the tools, the language, and the embodiment to guide them forward.
So the “problem” wasn’t that I didn’t have what it took. It was that I hadn’t fully owned who I was called to be. Once I did, my business became magnetic—and more importantly, it became me.

DAngela, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m DAngela Chase—a Becoming Guide, identity mentor, and the creator of Elevate Your Essence, a course and community for women who are ready to stop shrinking, stop settling, and start living in full alignment with the version of themselves they know they’re here to be.
But I didn’t always feel clear or confident in my purpose. In fact, I know what it’s like to feel stuck in a life that looks “fine” on the outside but feels completely off on the inside. For years, I was chasing alignment through jobs, side hustles, and surface-level success—while quietly feeling unseen, unworthy, and unsure of how to truly move forward.
It wasn’t until I did my own inner work and made what I now call the identity shift that everything changed. I stopped trying to fix my life through strategy alone, and instead focused on becoming the version of me who could hold the life I actually desired. That process led me to my mentor, deeper self-worth, and ultimately, my calling.
Now, I guide other women—especially women of color who have spent too long in survival mode—through their own version of that shift. My signature offer includes a powerful workbook called Elevate Your Essence, weekly mentorship with a supportive community, and access to a built-in business academy so that clients can grow personally and profit financially.
What sets me apart is that I don’t teach from a pedestal—I teach from lived experience. I bring spiritual insight, emotional truth-telling, and grounded, aligned strategy into every piece of my work. I speak to my audience as if they’re already the woman they’re becoming—not as if they’re broken or behind.
What I’m most proud of is watching women go from confusion and fear to clarity and embodiment. Seeing a client reclaim her voice, launch the thing she was scared of, or finally feel like she belongs in her own life again—that’s everything to me.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about my brand, it’s this:
✨ You are not too late.
✨ You are not too much.
✨ You are not stuck—you’re shifting.
And I’m here to guide you as you elevate your essence and create a life and brand that actually feels like you.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the clearest moments of resilience in my journey was when I made the decision to walk away from the version of myself I had outgrown—even though I had no idea what was next.
I remember being in a job that looked stable on paper but drained my spirit every day. I was going through the motions, doing what was expected, but deep down, I felt invisible in my own life. I kept telling myself, “Be grateful. It’s not that bad.” But every day, my body and intuition whispered, This isn’t it.
The breaking point came one evening when I sat in my car after work and couldn’t stop crying—not because something bad had happened, but because nothing was happening. I realized I was surviving, not living.
That night, I made a decision. I didn’t have a full plan, but I promised myself I would no longer abandon my peace to stay comfortable. I leaned into mentorship, did the deep identity work, and started rebuilding—not from hustle, but from alignment.
It wasn’t easy. There were moments I questioned everything. Moments I compared myself to people who looked like they had it all figured out. But I kept coming back to my truth: I’d rather be uncomfortable becoming her than stay comfortable betraying me.
That moment became the foundation of my brand. Now, I guide women through that same identity shift—so they don’t have to do it alone. My resilience didn’t come from pushing through; it came from choosing myself, over and over, even when it was hard.
And that’s what I help other women do now: stop shrinking, shift their identity, and build a life and brand that feels like home.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was this: “You have to prove your worth through productivity.”
Growing up—and even in my early adult life—I believed that if I wasn’t doing, I wasn’t valuable. Rest felt like laziness. Slowing down felt like failure. I wore “busy” like a badge of honor because I thought that was the only way to be successful, respected, and safe.
The backstory? I was in a constant loop of over-giving and under-receiving. Whether it was at work, in relationships, or even in my business, I felt like I had to earn everything through effort. I couldn’t just be—I had to do. And that left me drained, disconnected, and resentful.
Things shifted when I started doing inner work and realized I was outsourcing my value to other people’s expectations. I had to learn how to honor my energy—especially as a Projector in Human Design—and reconnect with the truth that my presence, not just my performance, is powerful.
Unlearning that belief changed everything. It allowed me to create a business that’s not built on burnout, but on alignment. It allowed me to trust the value of my voice, my story, and my intuition—not just my strategy.
Now, I help other women do the same. Because if we keep chasing success by proving ourselves, we’ll miss the version of us who already is enough—right now, exactly as she is.
