Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Danarion & Jasmine Bluitt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Danarion & Jasmine thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
At Crown of Favor, we truly aim to go above the industry standards of a “Clothing brand”. We like to say we are somewhere in between a clothing brand and a ministry. The core of who we are as a company is based on our faith. Our goal is to spread the love of God to all people and remind them, sometimes even teach them, what God’s word says about them. With a goal like this, a lot of the time our priority isn’t necessarily making a sale, it’s reaching a heart.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are Danarion and Jasmine Bluitt, a husband and wife duo. In our marriage’s first couple of years, we felt a bit fatigued with normalcy. Danarion worked a full-time job and I was a stay-at-home mom. The two of us started feeling a pull towards something bigger than ourselves and our family unit. We wanted to make an impact in the world around us. In the midst of trying to discover who we are, while growing a family, and navigating through life, our faith has always been our backbone. We created Crown of Favor as an expression of our love for God. Every design is crafted from our real-life experiences and our walk with God. What sets us apart from others is our genuine devotion to spreading God’s love. We keep Him at the core of our company, and as a reflection of that, we offer so many helpful resources to others walking on their faith journey.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When it came to funding our business we tried our best to be as creative as possible. Being parents of two, we didn’t have a ton of cash to just throw away. I think what helped us get everything started was our ability to stretch a dollar. We did hours of research to find the best prices for inventory and supplies. Also, we taught ourselves how to do the majority of the work. There were so many moments in the beginning stages of forming our business where we hit a roadblock because of the price of a service we needed. Again, we did research and watched tutorials on how to do a lot of the things we needed. Those experiences have molded us into the independent business owners that we are today.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I would say we are still in the early stages of building our social media presence, but it’s going well. We’ve had the opportunity to connect with thousands of people, which has been amazing. Social Media is an awesome tool because you have access to millions of people at your fingertips. Our advice is to always be authentic to yourself and your brand. There is an audience for every genre of person, and the only way to find your people is to stay true to who you are!
