We were lucky to catch up with Dana Lomba recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dana, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I think it takes perseverance, determination, and vision to be successful. Sometimes you will be told No! However, don’t stop preserver and push through to accomplish your goal. Determination is a big part of success because it shows the mental toughness that you have to everyone watching you trying to make it in life. Lastly, you have to see your vision already happening and get people excited about what you have in mind, and make come to life.
I started a small business called Synergy Massage and Spa with determination, persistence, and vision in mind. I got people excited about what I was trying to do for my town and 5 years later we are still going strong it has exceeded what my vision showed and I am truly humbled and blessed to be here today talking about it.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Dana Lomba, I am the owner of Synergy Massage and Spa in Thomasville North Carolina. I started in aesthetics in “2009” and massage in “2010.” I worked at a few well-known and respected businesses where I developed my craft before venturing off on my own and opening my business.
The problems that I help my clients solve could be anything from beauty treatments such as facial services to rest and relaxation with deep tissue, Swedish massages, pediatric massages, and prenatal massages.
I am most proud of purchasing our new home for Synergy Massage and Spa at 201 West Holly Hill Road in Thomasville. We grew so much that we needed more space for our clients and therapists. Our way of thinking at Synergy is you might come in as a guest but when you leave you are like family at Synergy Massage and Spa.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I think the best way to keep in touch with clients is through our monthly promotions and specials as well as out community engagements. That brings someone in that does not know about us but wants to know what we offer that can help them or a loved one.
Any advice for managing a team?
The advice that I can give for managing a team is transparency, devotion to my team, and team-building exercises. We often try to get together even with our full schedules to build team loyalty and a family-style atmosphere. I think that is extremely important because families have their low points and high points and it matters when you are there for each other when your employees are at their lowest and not just their high accomplishments moments.
