We were lucky to catch up with Dana Bradley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Dana , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I became a health and wellness coach after losing 166 lbs. through nutrition and fitness. I was pushing the scales at 284 lbs March 2020 when my doctor told me that I could die leaving my children without a mom. My mom had breast cancer and neglected her health before going to the dr. It was too late and she suffered losing her battle at the age of 50. I was busy with my kids as a mom and I had pretty much neglected my own health. I had high blood pressure and two mini strokes before the age of 35. I had type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, back issues, sleep apnea. Etc.the bad health bill kept adding up. I knew I had to do better and make this time work once and for all. My life depended on it. I lost 166 lbs over two years and have maintained it close to 4 yrs now in March. I had to stop pouring from an empty cup and start filling mine up so I could be the best version of myself and be able to give to my family. As a mom and the dr says you can die it puts your mindset into a different perspective. It’s all or nothing. Everyday I gave it my all through better nutrition and exercising. Exercising was my therapy. My journey has not been easy. I’ve had haters and been bullied but one thing my parents both taught me was perseverance and kindness. I never let the bad days get me down. I just used them as fuel and remain on course. I’m building a legacy for my children. Their mom never gave up. They were and will always be my WHY in my journey.

Dana , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I provide health and wellness coaching to female clients of all ages. I can resonate with those that come to me because I have been where they are at and understand what kind of a journey it is. We have all gotten stuck. We have lost ourselves and some feel it’s too late or they are too old. It’s not. I teach them through my journey how to have a healthy relationship with food and help them with fitness. I’m their cheerleader a long the way providing knowledge, support and accountability.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Having gone through the journey and learning about the do’s and don’ts. Having hard days and getting through them. I can resonate with my clients because of my amazing transformation. I was not fit when I started I was a normal heavy mom who had to take baby steps. Clients knowing they are loosing weight and getting in the best shape even through hormonal issues and menopause. I can resonate with that as well. People all over have seen my journey and they’ve come to me for help.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Having gone through the transformation naturally and helping hundreds have their own amazing health and wellness journeys themselves.
