We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dan Schneider a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear you experience with and lessons learned from recruiting and team building.
My first job as a lawyer was with my father , Leon D. Schneider. He was a real estate tax lawyer in NYC. I helped him grow his solo practice by hiring interns from local law schools who were good with technology. I encouraged him to buy his first fax machine and computers

Dan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
After 4 years of training as a young attorney under my father’s tutelage, I went to work with a small general practice firm run by a friend from Vassar College . I was his transactional counsel . That permitted me to follow my interest in entertainment and corporate law and build my own practice . After 4 years there , I left to become of counsel to a bigger boutique firm in SoHo .

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Networking and word of mouth recommendations from satisfied clients

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Networking . One of my mentors taught me the best practices for networking and mentoring others
