We were lucky to catch up with Dan Michael Jedrejczyk recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Dan Michael, thanks for joining us today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
As a film producer, I spend a large part of my time promoting and marketing films on social media and in person. But I don’t stop there. I promote films that I’m not producing too. I believe in being an ally to other filmmakers. Those filmmakers don’t have to create films in the same genre. For instance, Kris McMenamin is a filmmaker currently working on a comedy drama entitled “Misfits”. I produce films in horror and sci-fi. He reached out to me on Instagram. I have been promoting his film even though it’s unrelated to films I’m producing.
Kris has appreciated my help in promoting his film. We’ve exchanged emails and private Instagram DMs giving each other advice. This is a prime example of why I love what I do for a living. Two people who didn’t know each other, who work in different genres of filmmaking helped each other out. We have built a good rapport. We have a plan for next year where I will help with something involving his film. All of this wouldn’t be possible if we just stayed in our own genres of filmmaking.
We decided we would help each other and not stay within the genres we’ve been focusing on. Most people in the film industry focus on their films and not reach out to help others in other genres. Whereas Kris and I don’t agree with most others do. We enjoy networking with others unrelated to our films and help them.

Dan Michael, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a film producer for hire who started in the film industry during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. I’m based out of Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, USA. I focus on promoting and marketing films online and in person.
In April 2020, I told myself I needed to stop putting off what I’ve always wanted to do for a living for as long as I can remember as a kid. I was and still am fascinated with all of the amazingly talented and skilled people who dedicate their lives to the film industry. Watching film opening credits and end credits is something I’ve told my 6-year-old daughter to do to pay tribute to the wonderful people that brought the film to life.
I decided that I wanted to follow my dream of becoming a producer who could help bring filmmakers’ visions to life. I never expect to be financially successful. I’m a producer because I’m passionate about horror and sci-fi films and tv series. I’m thankful for the dedicated professionals who make films live and breathe. I hope to build a good rapport with like-minded individuals.
I want to help filmmakers achieve their dreams. I’ve met so many incredibly talented, skilled, and friendly people both online and in-person. I’m eternally grateful and thankful. I love what I do.
I had zero contacts in the entertainment industry when I first started producing films in April 2020. I believe that I have built a good rapport with cast and crew members who want me to promote films. I try my best to be an unselfish human being. I try to put others first before me. I continue to build a good reputation through my strong work ethic, my undying passion, and dedication to horror and sci-fi films.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Back in April 2020 when I started my journey as a film producer for hire, I didn’t know anyone in the entertainment industry. So I had to network relentlessly to build a good rapport with people working in the entertainment industry. It was a very rough start to my career. People didn’t take me seriously in the entertainment industry. My family also didn’t take me seriously either. They didn’t believe in me or my strong work ethic. They thought I was having delusions of grandeur. I had zero support from my family as I tried to gain respect and appreciation as a film producer.
I never gave up on my dreams of becoming a respected film producer despite what others thought of me. I just kept communicating with entertainment industry professionals. I promoted them for free to showcase my skills. It took a lot of hard work and dedication. My persistence paid off. I’m now respected as a film producer for hire.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Everyone has to start somewhere in their career. The same can be said about social media. I will focus on how I built my audience on Instagram. I needed to show proof of my work as a film producer. Instagram allows me to upload photo proof of my promoting and marketing skills. It took many months of posting photos and writing stories to get people working in the entertainment industry interested in what I do.
I would promote filmmakers, cast, and crew members for free. I would build a good rapport with them. I encourage questions, comments, and/or concerns on my posts. I will always reply to private Instagram DMs and emails. I make sure everyone feels welcome. I’m not afraid to network. I want to communicate with people old and new. I enjoy getting to know people better.
