Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dan Harary. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
As I approached the 40th Anniversary of my career as a Hollywood/Entertainment Industry Publicist, I decided that I wanted to branch out with my creativity so I became a published Author during Summer of 2022! I have released two original books that have captured a great deal of attention, both across the USA and in other parts of the world.
My first book, called FLIRTING WITH FAME: A HOLLYWOOD PUBLICIST RECALLS 50 YEARS OF CELEBRITY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS was very well received and took Hollywood by storm. In the book, I discuss many dozens of my interactions with very famous celebrities whom I either worked with, or met, usually under rather amusing circumstances. The book includes many photos of myself with such major celebs as Steven Spielberg, Jerry Seinfeld, Jack Black, Hugh Hefner, Sid Caesar, Drew Carrey, Al Gore, Alice Cooper, Micky Dolenz, Mel Brooks, and many others.
My second book, called AFTER THEY CAME, is an original science-fiction novel that presents the world of Jonathan Tuckerman, a Los Angeles man down on his luck and truly alone in life, who reaches his 70th birthday and decides to mark the occasion by drowning himself in the Pacific Ocean. Instead, he inadvertently becomes the world’s “Wonder Man” after a pair of extra-terrestrial visitors from the Pleiades interdimensional star system suddenly appear in a giant spacecraft, pluck him from the sea and present him to the media and the world as their sole “Ambassador to Mankind.”
Jonathan’s life is instantly – and dramatically – transformed forever, as he works closely with the magnificent Tall White aliens Jorthon and Kalyssa to solve virtually each and every one of man’s long-insurmountable problems.
Jorthon and Kalyssa aren’t the only aliens on Earth, however.
After They Came takes the reader—indeed, the entire human race—on a wild ride through UFO research and lore, global politics, climate change, religion, true love, a family reunion, and “the meaning of life itself,” all set against the backdrop of unprecedented extra-terrestrial intervention. The novel presents unlimited possibilities for achieving global peace and prosperity – dreams heretofore unattainable by modern man. It is a story of loneliness reversed, despair erased, and one man’s wholly remarkable destiny fulfilled.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I have been truly blessed to have been a successful Hollywood Publicist since 1984. I am well-known for my creativity, my passion, my original ideas, my connections, and my out of the box thinking. Those traits of mine have served me very well, both as a Publicist, and also as a new Author.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to use my creativity “thinking cap” and present original stories to the world about my various adventures, both in real life, as well as in my imagination.
Have you ever had to pivot?
From 1972-1996, when I was 15 to 40, I worked for dozens of companies both in New Jersey, New York and Los Angeles. But when I turned 40 in 1996, I realized the time had come for me to launch my own company, which I did. Today, The Asbury PR Agency is 27 years old and has represented hundreds of important Hollywood companies, artists & filmmakers, and behind the scenes experts, as well as top restaurants. Turning 40 was “my year” and I’ve been incredibly grateful to have launched – and sustained – a successful agency for such a long time, entirely on my own.
