Damon Jackson, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you learn to do what you do? Comix said, our process has been trial and error. we just went for it. experience has made us an expert at perserverance. We have been thrown out of studios, ran into tech difficulties, and entire pandemic, you name it. But we have carried on. There is nothing I would change, except less downtime.
Jamil said, I didn’t know where to look at first. Technology sped up the process more than before and through that I have learned and through experience.
Damon Jackson, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! I am Comix Strategy and my partner is Jamil Shelton (Also known as Jaess). We are Content Creators in the Film and Media industry.
We are know best for Kings 4 Queens with is a video podcast for women, discussing hot topics and issues facing women in today’s society.
Comix Strategy said, We also both have music projects and other podcasts we are working on under our forming Podcast Network with should up and running this summer. Our goal in everything is create dialogue and understanding through diverse and creative means of communication.
Jamil said, I am most proud of bettering myself as a man and the journey in the process, and my upcoming album coming out this year. Thinking our creating more healing based podcast to help people get through life issues and problems. I want to bring awareness to issues and also solutions can be verbalized and realized through these efforts.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Jamil said, Getting your ideas out. You gotta find a way to get what’s inside you out of you to help others. and if you do that well you have done your job in life.
Comix Said, Working within your passion and being able to be free with the expression and presentation. Finding ways to say things that need to be said because as a creative, that is how you enhance life, by being an honest open display of the raw emotion and experience that you are as a person.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Jamil Said, when I lost my love ones i was more motivated than ever before to get going and to get my ideas out, because that is something they would want from me. To see my mother pass, who was an inspiration in business made me want to be more proactive in using the principles she taught me in business and create and a higher level than ever before.
Comix Said, I watch a lot of videos on business, and entrepreneurial endeavors only to get stuck in the minutia of the process. I am finding that experience has been the best teacher, and we would not be where we are at today without trial and error. I listen to people like Steve Harvey and Tyler Perry, and Les Brown, the Pastors like Pastor Lee Jenkins, Brian Tome, and Tony Evans. Everything I listen to whether it be on purpose or by accident, or something sent to me tells me to press forward.
