Alright, Damola thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?

Thank you for having on here again, i greatly appreciate it. What legacy i’m i hoping to build and what do i think people will say about me when i am gone, hmm, what a loaded question! But i love it. First of all, i would love to be known for being diligent Christ follower and doer. I would love to build a legacy of not settling for less and being an exceptional being that we are created to be. I would hope people would say great things about me when i am long and gone or else i will wake back up and check them haha. But in all seriousness, i would hope individuals i had an encounter with or know of me to say that i gave them or showed them on how to be a better person. Most importantly, introduce them to the light which is God and having a relationship with the creator.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am a child of God first and foremost, I am a groomer (barber) but i specialize in something called ” Frame Grooming ” Frame Grooming is the art of molding an haircut into individual clients head shape in order for them to archive that specific look for them. This also allows me to provide a therapeutic experience because while i perform frame grooming, i am also massaging their head with the method i use to groom them. My grooming method is basically using my clipper set to locate where the bone in their head is to mold the haircut which provide the therapeutic feeling. I know my readers might be a bit lost now but yeah you have to do try it out, it is exceptional! This is the difference i bring to the cosmetology industry and also with exceptional customer service. A lot of us want a unique look but we all have different shapes of head so this is where Frame Grooming comes in play, it is the game changer.
I will say the quality service that i provide stands out but the interactions and the growth mindset matters to me the most. Personal growth is a big deal to me and that is what i include in my business. The saying ” you are your business” is so true because the energy to put into yourself is what channels into your business, so you are not growing personally, your business will not grow.
I am very proud of myself, most importantly i know God is proud of me for being a good steward towards his entity. “To whom much is given, much is expected” so i am trying take good care of what i have going on now, so that the creator could bless me with much more. I am proud because i opened up my barber studio “Quality Grooming Studio” May 19, 2020 which made 3 years in operation this year! I am still in awe because that is operating a service business for three years of covid, that is a big deal! All glory to God for the grace through the years of running the business.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My definition of resilience is the ability to keep pushing when things are not going the way it was planned, it is when life is lifing you but you keep going. Not to get too deep but i had couple of situations that happened to me but that resilient spirit kicked in and it kept me going. During this these tough times, i had a revelation from God and he illustrated to me on why the top people are at the top and the bottom people are at the bottom. The top people have mastered the resilience spirit which kept them going and the bottom people could not hang on because life situations distracted or derailed them from their life’s purpose. When i had this encounter with God, it straightened me up with more grace from him to keep moving and never stop.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I believe we are all here to serve each other. If we all intentionally serve each other properly, the world will be in a much better place. I serve my clients with pure intention, i make sure that they are well taken care of. I make sure that they know they have my full attention. I make sure they come first. I make sure they know i truly care for them not the money they are spending with me. My purpose is to make sure they feel good about themselves before walking out of my shop. My motto says ” Connect and uplift souls with the clippers”. This is how i built my reputation because people will always remember how you treat them and how you made them feel. If you treat someone well, they will tell someone else and that is how it circulates.
