Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Daminique Washington . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Daminique, appreciate you joining us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
As a business owner I have had my moments of ups and downs. I would say in my happiest moments it wasn’t the profit or the exposure, it was always the feedback and genuine appreciation from customers enjoying my products. From the tagged post of what my customers made for breakfast, lunch and dinner would light a fire in me. There’s been numerous times where I’ve learned how to create a new dish with my products from my customers sharing their own recipes. That alone made more than grateful, happy, and excited that I did not give up on my business dream.
Daminique, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Daminique Washington, Founder of one of the Best Low Sodium Seasoning Brands out right now “Spiced Up by Daminique”. I started in the food industry with my passion for cooking and mixing my love for healthcare in one. My brand focuses on Lowering Hypertension by keeping the sodium count under five percent. My products consist of an All Purpose, Seafood, BBQ, Cajun, and Sweet Dust seasoning that goes perfect on everything. The amazing flavor and low sodium is what sets my products apart from other brands. I am most proud of the effect it’s having on my customers who do suffer from high blood pressure. I’ve received feedback stating the changes that it has made in their diet intake, and how my product has replaced their commonly used seasonings. I would want our potential customers to know that we’re community health focused in creating better eating habits while enjoying amazing meals by using our products.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience via social media was very humbling. But I quickly learned that I needed to discipline myself to scale my business higher like I wanted to. I started to create a habit by posting on Instagram, Facebook Twitter at least 2 to 3 times a day as part of my to-do list. Creating reels and cooking more throughout the week to share how my products work on different meals. The advice I would give new business owner starting out to build their social media presence is marketing marketing marketing. Using capital or saving your own funds to pay for ads needed on different social media platforms would help expose your brand to a wide range of people compared to you posting every day to the family and friends that you have on personal pages. Creating marketing ads put me in a place to receive orders from states I have never been to before to market my product and allowing people to take a risk on trying out a product that’s not accessible in stores.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What truly help me build my reputation within my market was me posting daily on my personal pages as well as I would purchase business T-shirts that had my logo and slogan on the back and west them out daily which opened up conversation with future customers and gives you an opportunity to share your business with someone new.
