At HumDov, our mission is twofold: to empower churches and ministries with the digital tools they need to thrive, and to equip the next generation with the technical skills they need to succeed in the digital world. But behind these objectives lies a deeply personal story and a passion for making a difference in the lives of people and communities.

The Story Behind Our Mission
The seeds of HumDov were planted during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the world faced unprecedented challenges, one of the most significant impacts was the sudden isolation of communities. This was especially true for churches and ministries, which rely on in-person gatherings to foster connection, support, and spiritual growth. When the pandemic forced churches to shut their doors, many struggled to maintain that vital sense of community. It became clear to me that there was a gap that technology could fill—a way to keep churches connected, engaged, and growing, even in the face of such disruption.

But my journey didn’t start with the pandemic. It began much earlier when I first discovered my passion for technology as a young person. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to be introduced to technology early in life, and that early start gave me opportunities I might not have had otherwise. Technology has not only shaped my career but has also allowed me to improve my life and positively impact the lives of those around me. This personal experience has driven me to want to give back by helping others, especially young people, gain the same early access to tech skills that have been so transformative for me.

Why Our Mission Matters
For me, the mission behind HumDov is about more than building software. It’s about empowering communities and helping people and organizations fulfill their missions. By providing churches with tools that simplify operations, enhance engagement, and make financial management more transparent, we’re enabling them to focus more on what truly matters: serving their congregations and making a positive impact in the world.

At the same time, through HumDov Academy, we’re investing in the next generation. We’re offering young people the opportunity to learn coding, web development, and other key digital skills that can set them up for success in the rapidly evolving tech landscape. By equipping them with these skills early on, we’re opening doors to career opportunities that can change their lives and contribute to a more inclusive digital economy.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with Fortune 500 companies, contributing to transformative digital projects that have driven significant growth and efficiency. My journey in the technology space is marked by a consistent focus on using innovative software solutions to solve business challenges, enhance customer experiences, and unlock new revenue streams.

My fascination with technology began early, as I was always intrigued by the way software could streamline processes and create new possibilities. My approach to managing a team and maintaining high morale centers around two key principles: investing in my team and ensuring they fully understand the significance of what they are helping to build.

I believe that when team members feel valued and understand the impact of their contributions, they are more engaged, motivated, and committed to the collective goal. To achieve this, I make it a priority to invest in their growth and development. This includes providing opportunities for continuous learning, offering mentorship, and creating an environment where they feel supported in their personal and professional journeys.

Equally important is helping the team see the bigger picture. I make it a point to regularly communicate how their work fits into the broader mission of the company and the difference it makes in the lives of our users. By connecting their daily tasks to the meaningful outcomes we’re striving to achieve—whether it’s empowering churches with digital tools or equipping the next generation with tech skills—I ensure they understand the value of their contributions.

In essence, by investing in my team and making the significance of our work clear, I create a sense of purpose and ownership that drives high morale and sustained performance.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

My company is entirely bootstrapped, and the journey of funding it was rooted in a deep belief in the vision behind HumDov. I used my own income, earned over years of working as a software engineer and consultant, to fund the business because I absolutely believed in what HumDov stands for and the impact it could have.

Rather than seeking external investors or taking on debt, I chose to invest my own resources into the company. This decision was driven by my unwavering confidence in the value HumDov could bring to churches, ministries, and the younger generation through technology. By reinvesting the income I earned, I was able to maintain full control over the company’s direction and ensure that our growth aligned with our mission.

Bootstrapping wasn’t always easy—it required careful planning, strategic budgeting, and a commitment to making every dollar count. However, this approach allowed me to build HumDov sustainably, staying true to the core values that inspired its creation. Today, this belief continues to fuel how we operate and grow as a company, with a focus on long-term impact and value.
