We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Damian Ambriz a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Damian , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
My defining moment was when I experienced my own hairloss at a young age. Going through hairloss was tough and depressing especially when I had really thick hair. It’s what drove me into the career path of scalp micro pigmentation. To understanding how my clients feel about their own hair loss because I’ve been there.
Damian , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello My Name is Damian Ambriz, I run Scalpsa here in San Antonio. I am a top leading scalp micro pigmentation practitioner. What I do is treat both men and women who experience hair loss with a cosmetic tattoo that can create the look of a short buzz cut or make existing hair look fuller. To view my work you can visit SCALPSA.Com. It took me years to master this trait and I have treated clients all over the world. What people and potential clients need to know is that you can’t just go to anyone. I’ve had to fix so many clients that everyone should know how important it is to do your research when it comes to these treatments. You can guarantee here at ScalpSa I will strive to put out the best treatments custom to your liking. Other than the job itself I’ve enjoyed working with the many clients that have came into my studio. So many different stories and individuals from all over this world. I’m truly grateful for what I do and thankful to my clients for trusting in me.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey to growing my business hasn’t been all that great. I traveled a tough road to get here. I didn’t have the usually support in fact to this day the support I have is not so great. No family or friends support. I’ve been able to over come this because my drive to be a better man. I believe my focus on working on myself has motivated Me into creating my brand. I refused to give up on myself Despite the lack of support. The lack of a role model or mentorship. The desire to be a better man Than I was yesterday pushes my drive and is the motor that runs my business. I’ve been lucky to have made it this far and extremely thankful.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
In order to succeed not only in this field but any field I believe you have to have a love for what you do. I love this job I love what I do and this is a huge reason why I succeed. I didn’t get into it for the money I got into it for the love of helping others. You’re mindset is the most important tool into succeeding. How bad do you want it? Are you willing to put in the work even when things don’t go right? With the right mind set and the belief in yourself then anything not only in this field can be possible.
