We were lucky to catch up with Damaris Elaine recently and have shared our conversation below.

Damaris , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)

One of the first Public Relations firms I hired to assist with media relations charged a monthly subscription fee. After a few months, I noticed the quality of the services declined and it was difficult to get in touch with the staff. Various artists I met along the way which had worked with this firm also agreed. Lesson learned: shop around and get recommendations from others

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Damaris Elaine is a Christian singer / musician who composes and sings original songs with the intent to reach a global audience who are believers and non-believer alike. Through music, Damaris touches themes which will resonate with all walks of life. Damaris Elaine’s first album “Cerca”, was released in 2005 when CD’s were still a thing.

Damaris is working on a new EP – with fresh new singles released from 2019 to present

In August 2023, Damaris received a Music Award in Calgary, Canada from the “El Galardon – Canada” by the ACCRA organization in the category of “Revelacion Alternativa”.

Damaris just launched a new R&B Pop single: “Como Tu Me Ves” (translation: The Way You See Me). Which addresses the issue where one may not be happy with one’s appearance. Damaris reminds one to ask the question: God, how do you see me? God sees us with love, as beloved children and royalty.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is listening to the stories from the listeners of the impact a song made in their lives. The listeners have experienced joy, hope, peace and faith. The majority of my new songs touch themes in Mental Health, Low Self-Esteem or How one sees themselves

Another rewarding aspect is collaborating with other artists. Collabs opens the doors to work with other artists on their songs. From writing hooks / choruses to recording the vocals. This has allowed me to explore other genres. You can find me featured in various Hip-Hop, Urban, Reggaeton and Pop songs. For one project, I had to travel to Bilbao, Spain to shoot the Music Video.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?

A resource I wish I knew about earlier is hiring PR firms to get the word out about a new single. Marketing is very important to let people know about a song. So many songs get published on the digital platforms and one must get the word out.
