We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Dalisha Daniel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Dalisha below.
Alright, Dalisha thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
Since I was a little girl I always had an interest in the beauty world. I grew up watching my mom put her make up on everyday before taking my sister and I to school. My mom saw my passion for beauty and she embraced it by getting me beauty kits to experiment with. When I got older I started to experiment more and watched a youtube video on how to do lashes. After I saw that, I decided to try it on my mom and she loved it. I felt overjoyed to see how my mom felt so pretty after the work I did on her. Going forward a few years later, I moved to Florida and got my lash technician certification in Orlando. I built my LLC and created all my business marketing to get me started. My first client was my sister and then I started building from there.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a Lash Technician who owns a small business called Lisha’s Lashes. I offer individual lash extensions that look natural but bold enough to notice their enhanced beauty. I believe what sets me apart from other lash techs is the willingness to fill in the gap for clients who have problems booking their refill appointments with their original lash tech artist whether its a scheduling issue or just not the right fit. I’m conveniently located near University of Central Florida in the Waterford lakes area and I have a flat rate fee for all lash sets.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I currently have a Masters in Business Administration but my undergraduate degree was in music. I picked up piano since I was 5 years old and music always came easy to me which was why I decided to pursue a degree in it. Once I graduated with my degree in Music, it was hard for me to find a steady job. I was a ballroom dance instructor for years and I taught music to pre-k students at a daycare. At one point I felt that my career was unstable because we live in a world that when funding is low, the fine arts department is the first program to get cut. So I decided to get my MBA since I was also good at math outside of music and it served me well.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is running Instagram ads on my business page @lishas_lashesllc. I also have business cards and a booksy page for easy booking using a click of a button. Creating clear and high definition content is a must while promoting on social media. Prior to my lash business I had an android phone and the quality is no where near the quality of an iPhone so I had to transition.
