Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dalania Stevens. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dalania, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
D HOUSE OF ANGELS was founded by Dalania Stevens. Being a survivor of domestic violence, she decided to create a safe haven for women and men in the community. Having a family member murdered in front of her kids also pushed me even more to help others escape. In 2022 with the help of the community D House Of Angels was able to help 75 women and men escape their abusers and helped 50 kids with Christmas gifts.
Dalania, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
D House of Angels Empowers Survivors and Raises Awareness on Domestic Violence.
Pontiac, Michigan – D House of Angels, a prominent non-profit organization, is committed to providing comprehensive support, resources, and a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence. With a strong focus on empowering individuals and families affected by abusive situations, D House of Angels aims to break the cycle of violence and help survivors rebuild their lives.
Founded by Dalania Stevens, a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, D House of Angels understands the profound impact these traumas have on individuals and the urgent need for support. The organization was established with the mission to create a community where survivors can find healing, support, and empowerment.
According to Dalania Stevens, “D House of Angels was started to provide support and resources to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault based on personal experiences. The tragic loss of a loved one due to domestic violence motivated me to create a safe haven and empower others who have faced similar traumas, helping them find healing and support on their journey to recovery.”
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
What’s helping me get D House Of Angels name out here is by being in the rooms. Rather it’s training, a political event, or another organization I make sure that I attend anything that I can and talk about my organization.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I created this organization in 2013 and got discouraged because it seemed as if nobody wanted to support me so I stopped. But in 2021 when I had my stroke my vision came back around and that’s why I’m here today knowing not everyone will support your mission just keep pushing.
