We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Dakhari Francis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Dakhari , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
2019 was the time period I expanded myself pass just being an artist. It was the beginning of me gaining recognition as an all around musician. My performances were cultivating lots of different people. From then on I knew I could make it something bigger
Dakhari , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Dakhari4o4. I am an artist DJ & producer. I’ve been creating music for 12 years and have helped countless others begin their journeys in music. I knew from a young age I wanted to be a creative but didn’t know exactly how i could set myself as such. Over the years I spent most of my time learning subjects such as song writing, music theory, stage performance, sound engineering, and djayin. My passion for the craft sets me apart because I’m able to articulate my creations in a very infectious way. I am proud to still be going strong after all these years.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to become a mongol and use my knowledge and recourses to expand outside of just the creative world.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
I have such a long and complex story of how I got here and why I move the way I do. Therefore Im here because I created my path and given myself the freedom to walk it as i choose. I often pivot and try different things in the creative space but it’s ultimately I remain working for one goal.
