We recently connected with Dajour Fontenot and have shared our conversation below.
Dajour, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I know my legacy will be my vision and contributions to either Art, Music, Entertainment, Media,Fashion, etc will have a timeless impact. Anything creative I lay a finger on I want my work ethic in private to show how long my legacy will last in public.
To spark the minds of generations after me.
To influence those who is like me, doubted and misunderstood.
But once you express yourself creatively they understand now.
Also i want my legacy for being me to positively show I didn’t need talent to show how special I’m meant to be, but only elevated that purpose a lot more.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the industry/business by starting with myself being a musician while locally collaborating with my peers like, Michael Kure, Kid Skooba!, Carlisle Jones, Corinthian Walker (ThirdCore Network), You Gene Write, Cattjacc Productions,
to later on working with Derrick Lilly, Kylan Williams, DevSoCold, Spaceship Coyote, Slee!, Midnight District,The Phasing Octopus, The Lie Within Callie, and Bake$ just to name a few,
Everybody else i want to keep a surprise for now.
My discipline didn’t kick in until later on while realizing where i came from, being a country boy in a small town called Butler
to being in the Birmingham city scene full of musicians and artists creating greatness for the pride of their state.
Understanding why me and mines left home in the first place because there wasn’t opportunities that we needed to see a better way of living.
So I just stuck with what i know will bring us a better way of living by creating new sources of income with the talents i’m blessed to have.
I got into my craft by using what i had which was my composition notebooks, my imagination and my small laptop with FL Studio installed.
A music production software i used religiously every day to create the music I loved listening to.
While venturing out with the software i tried out different genres of music working on diversity till I patiently became better as a music producer with time.
Now its been 10+ years since i started.
With that much time i worked on fitting many hats creatively whether its being a music producer, executive producer, songwriter, graphic designer, photographer, even DJ’ing if i wanted to.
I just took the time piecing everything together while also piecing my team together to help provide the vision completely.
I feel like the problem i solve for my clients is that i create the sound for them that is balanced.
Production that is slightly outside the box but yet still works for them as far as bringing their best out.
I can say that I provide good quality music while showing diversity.
Aiming to make music that you can listen to years later and the quality ages like wine in a era where everything has to be microwave fast.
That’s what sets me apart from the rest.
I can say I am proud of the work i did so far this year,
Game Over EP, R.I.P Big Floyd EP, Giant Storm Ep, Alabama State of Mind Remix with Slee! 205 Summer with Kid Skooba!
DS1 Freesyle with The Phasing Octopus and Drifting Away with The Lie Within Callie & Bake$.
Also proud of my collaboration projects i executive produced this year like Unknown 3 with Michael Kure for starters,
Got an album releasing the end of this year with Carlisle Jones.
Got some work with other artists being finished as we speak for either this year or next year.
Plus i’m working on some big projects myself for next year as well so I don’t go by SAYGO! for nothing,
My Work ethic in the lab says it all.
I’m also proud of how i been branding myself, bringing my brand to the art and fashion scene thanks to my team who goes by Yugenami.
S/O to the Legend Of Ken, D-Arts Industries, Astro Indigo, and The Radiocorpse!
We’re The Future!
My Potential Clients need to know that if we can connect on a personal level someway then the music we make together is gonna seem flawless and timeless.
I can deliver on business easily but if we’re talking about making something special…
That’s just how the “magic” works with me.
And to my potential fans whether it’s from my music or music i make with others, whether its art, fashion, entertainment whichever one.
I aim to bring out quality experiences that’ll instantly make you a core fan to not only me but to those working with me to elevate the Alabama scene with their talents and dedication as well.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What I think that helped me was…..Patience honestly. If I see potential in a artist or producer i’m working with, then i’ll definitely be patient with them as far the process of coming up with great music together.
I understand what kind of struggle musicians goes through because i’m one myself.
We go through a lot while still attempting to create our next big thing.
The only thing i can do is be there with you while investing in you the sound you want from me.
While also being your support system, we all need that sometimes to keep going.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
The 7th Habits of Highly Effective Teens By Sean Covey Think Like A Success, Act Like A Success By Steve Harvey

Also listening to music that fits my mood when i’m handling business.
These are the things that amplified my fire for wanting more in the music and business world.
These things and more made my vision for what i want a lot bigger.
