We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daizy Stanton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daizy below.
Daizy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
I do take vacations! Most of my vacations are work related, so my vacations are split up into half of it working and half of it relaxing. It can be a challenge to find a happy medium between the two, but I believe that the beauty of having your own business means taking vacations at any time of the year!

Daizy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Daizy Stanton and I’m from Puyallup, Washington. I have always been more of a creative person and knew that i didnt want to work a 9-5. I took photography classes in high school and quickly realized that I had a passion for it. I was determined to make it a career. Ever since then, I have been building my business from the ground up. I
I am now a cinematic storytelling photographer based in Washington but I travel all over for work. I shoot couples and weddings mainly, but I also host photography retreats.
I am super proud of how far I have come at such a young age (21) and I cant wait to see how much more growing I will do.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Growing a clientele from scratch is extremely challenging but so rewarding once you do it. My advice for growing clientele is to market yourself in any way you can. For me, I started my Instagram page and started offering free or discounted shoots, which eventually led to people booking me, even if it was only $50 at the time.
I have seen the vest results by just posting and posting and posting even if I felt annoying. In the beginning, you may have to market yourself all over social media, including facebook, instagram, google, or even TikTok. But it is the fastest way for clients to find you and your business.

Any fun sales or marketing stories?
When I was planning a trip to Hawaii, I really wanted to do a shoot there and make some money from it, but I didn’t have any audience from Hawaii. I took a risk and payed for an Instagram ad to reach people in Hawaii, hoping that I would at least get one couple to photograph while i was there.
I ended up getting more than 8 people who were willing to pay for a shoot while I was in Hawaii. i felt extremely excited to grow m clientele in Hawaii.
