We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daisy Lopez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daisy below.
Daisy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
As a small business owner, for most of my career I managed my own social media. Creating content and adds that I think would draw in peoples attention. Posting on all different platforms such as Facebook, instagram, Tik Tok and our google business page. With my business becoming larger, I have recently hired a company to manage our social media who have been posting for us three days a week. With this I have seen a vast increase in business and sales.

Daisy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
6 years ago I found myself having an interest in technology, more specifically phones. What makes them work, how do the operate, what could be on the inside? I bought a phone repair kit from amazon and out of pure curiosity I decided to take my phone apart. With little information and just a YouTube video, I had taken apart my very first iPhone. After this I started to repair the phones of my friends and family. Once I realized I had an interest in this I began working in a cell phone repair shop, expanding my knowledge and learning as much as I could. I decided to take a large leap of faith, and began working for myself shortly after this. I worked out of my car for about 2 years, and with much success I was able to open my very own repair store. This is what created, First Aid Wireless. I developed many relationships along my journey and these loyal customers followed me to my store. Spreading my business by word of mouth, I have become one of the top rated shops in Ellis County. I always go out of my way to find a solution for my customers, I have expanded my abilities beyond cell phone repair, now repairing any electronics as in iPads, tablets, apple watches, game consoles, computers, etc. I have taken many courses to continue to help me grow and am now offering micro soldering as well. My customers mean everything to me and I always do everything I can to find them a solution. I want my customers to know that without them, there would be no First Aid Wireless and I truly value their loyalty.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
After deciding to quit my job at the repair shop, with only $80 to my name I began working for myself. At first this was hard, and I was charging customers a deposit, so I could afford parts per repair. Slowly but surely the word got around and I began to get more clients. I saved everything I could within 2 years, I was able to open my very own shop completely with out of pocket funding.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
In my own experience, the most effective strategy has been providing the best possible customer service and quality work. Being honest with your customers and always having their best interest. Once you have established a trusting relationship, word of mouth is the best advertisement you can have.
