Daisy , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment is yourself! Honestly, I started focusing on bettering myself and becoming well rounded, so that included focusing on my hobbies, such as fitness, dancing, art. I worked on gaining higher confidence, learning how to do makeup, finding what hair and clothing styles worked for me and more .Doing these things helped me to be better. Once I pinpointed my needs and strengths, I attracted quality people to work with and opportunities.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Daisy, I got into modeling during the start of the pandemic and acting (theater) is something I’ve been doing on and off as a kid. As I’ve gotten older, I still hold these near to me and have decided to share more about it. Other than by word of mouth and Instagram, I do share my experiences on my Youtube Channel, World of Daisy Flowers. By sharing, I want to inspire others to create and express themselves, instead of just dreaming– actually do all the things you want in life with confidence and also to meet other creatives
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
For Modeling, it’s always been the factor of seeing those who look like me, when I was younger, I didn’t see much of that. When I looked at the magazines that came in the mail, I never saw women who reflected my physical characteristics and I decided, if I couldn’t find it, I will create it. I haven’t stopped pursuing that and as time passes, I have started to see more diversity, which fills me with joy. I remember one time going to a shoot and one of the models told me they were so happy to see me wear my natural hair because it’s not common. Moments like that push me to continue to create. For acting, when I started, I didn’t really have a purpose, it was just something I did naturally, but as more time passed by I fell in love. I do start having specific goals for myself, such as being the lead cast for a lifetime movie one day. Another thing I really like to point out is the continued support I get, especially with acting. During the times that I am unsure and my journey seems rocky, I think about my dreams and the people who appreciate my art!
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
That’s a fantastic question, I’ve been asked “when is your next project”? The real answer is I don’t know, I never truly will know. It’s not a 9-5 where I will know my schedule and when my next paycheck will come. There’s this assumption that a creative person books a job and that is the golden ticket to get many more jobs. Ultimately, it’s not true, even for those who are well endowed. There are up seasons and down seasons. Personally, I don’t accept every job presented to me and every job offered to me, I don’t accept. One of the first and most important steps is to see, if the client and I match for a potential partnership. The wonderful thing about being an actress and model (in general) is that I am always working to become better, so even when I’m not “working”, I’m working.
