Daisha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I took a significant risk when I decided to turn my passion for natural and beneficial products into an online business. With little knowledge of how to start or sell products to others, I invested all the money I had into buying materials, ingredients, and new gadgets. At the time, I wasn’t sure if this venture was realistic or if people would trust and buy my products.
My husband and I were living in a small city, both unhappy with our jobs. Despite not having much money, we made the bold choice to quit our jobs and pursue our dreams. We wanted a fresh start and a new atmosphere, so after I graduated college, we moved to a bigger city with just our previous paychecks and faith in God. Somehow, we managed to find a beautiful home and continued to pursue our passions.
Two years later, we felt the desire to move to a larger state, but we lacked the savings to do so. We didn’t even have a place to live or jobs lined up. However, we decided to sell all our furniture, pack whatever we could fit into our car, and put our trust in God that everything would work out. After being in the new state for four weeks, filled with gratitude and a positive attitude, my business started gaining more attention, leading to increased sales. Simultaneously, my husband earned a high position in his career. With our newfound success, we were able to move into a beautiful home.
Now, I am fully dedicated to my business, OLA GOLD BEAUTY, and I absolutely love what I do. I am forever grateful for the risks we took and the trust we placed in our dreams. It’s a constant reminder that taking risks and having faith can lead to incredible opportunities and fulfillment in life.

My name is Daisha Agboola, also known as Daisha Collins before I got married. I initially pursued a degree in marketing, but later switched to strategic communications, which provided me with insights into the creative aspects of running a business and attracting people towards it. After graduating, I faced difficulty finding work in my field as many companies preferred candidates with more experience. However, during that time, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, making it even harder to secure a job.
Amidst this challenging period, I turned to making body care and skin care products as a hobby. I was inspired by the need for healthier alternatives, especially when dermatology offices were closed, and my husband was experiencing severe breakouts with no relief from store-bought products. This sparked my obsession with learning about toxic ingredients commonly found in mainstream brands and the desire to create products that are vegan, natural, melanin-approved, and diverse-approved. I formulated my line to be free from sulfates, parabens, phthalates, formaldehydes, petroleum, and other harmful substances.
In creating my products and selling them to customers, my goal is to provide a solution where individuals can use products without worrying about toxic ingredients, while also healing and nourishing their skin. I believe that the body deserves as much love and care as the face does. I take immense pride in developing a thriving line of vegan, natural, and melanin-approved personal care, body care, and skin care products that people genuinely love.
What sets me apart is my deep passion for living a healthy, herbal lifestyle and not contributing to the adverse effects that certain products can have on people’s skin. I am not driven solely by making a quick dollar; instead, I am committed to promoting health and wellness through my offerings.
Currently, all my products are available online, but my ultimate goal is to establish a leading brand that people love and trust. I want potential clients and followers to know that my brand represents a dedication to providing safe, effective, and enjoyable products for their skincare needs.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
When I first embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, I had an idealistic vision of instant success and rapid progression. I was filled with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to see my business flourish right from the start. However, I soon learned a valuable lesson that success doesn’t happen overnight.
In the initial stages, I faced numerous challenges and setbacks that tested my resolve. Despite putting in hard work and effort, the progress I desired seemed elusive. It was a humbling experience that taught me the importance of consistency, discipline, and faith.
Consistency became a guiding principle for me. I realized that success is a result of persistent and dedicated action, day in and day out. It’s about showing up consistently, even when things are not going as planned. I learned to stay focused on my goals, pushing forward with unwavering determination.
Discipline also played a crucial role in my journey. I recognized that running a business requires structure and organization. I had to develop a routine, prioritize tasks, and stay disciplined in executing them. It meant making sacrifices and staying committed to my vision, even when distractions or challenges arose.
