Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dai Flores. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Dai , thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

Media has convinced us to thrive for a certain image of success and popularity, but success comes in many shapes. For me it’s the ability to do what you like without worry. Although it sounds simple it seems to be getting harder to achieve in this current state. Luckily I am able to say I’m getting there.

Dai , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

When asked these type of questions i usually go blank but what I know for sure is. I am an artist and currently I am fortunate to say I am a tattoo artist. I like making designs and I love when someone decides to get it on their skin. It’s special to me to have someone love my idea or design so much they want it permanently. So when I work with clients I give them my best. It’s the least I can do to someone who gives me their trust.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

There’s been so much I’ve had to unlearn to get where I am, but the starting point was the toxic views I had developed from childhood and how they shifted my perspective on life. I grew up with anxiety, I would overthink every little thing and at times it was out of self protection. I grew up thinking it’s normal and fine but as I grew older it only hindered my view on achieving what I wanted. The anxiety of failure and the fear of rejection kept me from moving forward. It’s a continuous battle but more and more my anxiety has taken a back seat.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

As much as I didn’t believe when others told me, I have to admit the best source for new clients is word of mouth. What better way to believe an experience than from a trusted friend or family.
