Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dahquaisha Rasberry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Dahquaisha , appreciate you joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am a creatix, I bleed creativity. I am the most happiest when I can express all of my creative energy. I vowed to turn creative outlets into my career. Working a regular job doesn’t work for me, it is quite depression. Although I overstand the importance. It’s just not for me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It’s safe to be you! That’s one of my biggest messages. I am so many things and it’s so important for me to express it authentically. Not only was I creatively expressive as a child. I was also very responsible, I spent most of my childhood being a caregiver for my siblings and the elders who took us in. I had a very difficult childhood and creating was my escape. It started with me making my own clothing designs and doing my hair. My siblings and I wasn’t as fortunate. In order to prevent being bullied for my look, i recreated my imagine. It didn’t help lol but it may things better. I needed to express myself with all the trauma I went through. I never wanted anyone to feel the way I did so I became very passionate about empowering people out of their trauma. I had a natural gift for nurturing and uplifting others. From a child I would always say I wanted to be an angel because the world is so cruel. I needed to be the change , So I spent majority of my life inspiring & coaching people. Along with my insightful online presences , 1 on 1s and curated events. I also wrote a book to assist others with their journey called “SOULutions: Affirming the solution for your soul healing. “ Which is available on my website razzique.com and Amazon KDP. Outside of shinning light and showing up for others. I continue to show up for myself by never limiting myself. I dance, model, cook vegan food, make music & poetry.. I even have a podcast. All of these things and many more make up who I am. I am Rasberry, which is actually my IG, twitter & youtube name.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn the fear of shinning too brightly. From my experience many are intimidated by someone they feel “do it all” I had to release myself from the judgement of others and dimming my light. I had to learn to be comfortable with being my authentic self out loud even if doesn’t make sense to others..
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, my goal is to continue to inspire other like minds. I want grow in my creativity and create revenue. I believe my passion will lead me to financial freedom.
