D3mstreet , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

One of the biggest reasons why we do what we do and why we are where we are is because of our parents. They have NEVER forced us to do something but they would also be very honest with us. For them to be at every music performance, dance practice, dance competition, football game, etc. that gave us everything we needed. The support has always been unreal but it’s all we know. Our dad doesn’t say too much to us when it comes to our craft he lets us make our own choices and decisions and let’s us learn from them. So when he out of the blue comes out and says our music is great and we just need to put it out to our audience that’s the type of things that inspires us and reminds us that we’re destined for entertainment.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

D3Mstreet consists of three brothers Derrick, Devin, and Deion based out of Orlando, FL. This talented trio has it all! These singer/songwriter’s combine futuristic, melodic, and erie vocals that take you on a rollercoaster ride throughout a song. Their sound is cool, rhythmic, and like a blast from the past while keeping it modern. Be prepared for a little bit of everything while feeling refreshed with a new sound that doesn’t mock today’s saturated industry. The D3Mstreet brand screams DIFFERENT. Their range includes rapping, singing, dancing, choreography, acting, as well as fashion design. They even design their own apparel! They’ve done everything from placing 5th on America’s Got Talent in 2010 to their current global hit “Woah.” Their hit single “Woah” has accumulated 147 million+ views on YouTube and 80 million+ streams on Spotify and is RIAA Certified Gold. They are currently taking TikTok by storm with 1.4m followers! D3Mstreet has been featured on Good Morning America, Ellen DeGeneres, and even had the spotlight on Oprah Winfrey’s network OWN. In the OWN TV show “David Makes Man,” D3Mstreet makes an appearance in TWO of the show’s episodes. The music is just getting started so get ready to catch the wave that’s taking over! Is there mission driving your creative journey?

One of the missions I would say for us is to bring this industry something new and fresh. There’s so many creatives out here whether it’s musicians, comedians, actors, etc. grabbing at greatness but using the same blueprints. WE ARE DIFFERENT. The industry is begging for something new and refreshing and that’s US. We want to show that you don’t have to look or sound a certain way to touch “success”.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson I would say is “you don’t need anybody you just need yourself and be a hard worker”. Although this is not wrong this statement needs some sort of tweaking. With this being said we wouldn’t be where we are today if we sat back and waited for someone to carry us to success. You can’t find a video editor, figure out how to edit yourself, you can’t find a producer, learn how to produce yourself, these are only SOME of the things that we’ve took on ourselves and learned to do because no one’s going to want it or work for something harder than you. But on the flip this mindset can sometimes push a way opportunities and people that could be vital to your success. You will eventually NEED a team that will catapult you to new heights. You don’t know everything. Learn something new every day and build with people that want to see you win and you will do great.
