Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to D.A Smalls . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
D.A , appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I was always a risk taker whether it was stealing food so I didn’t have eat noodles an hot dogs all my life or stealing to survive while I was sleeping outside eating out of a garbage can. To even sacrificing time with my family just to fill a void by striving for greatness due to my life. I have always taking risk, But these type of risk after I developed a relationship with GOD is different. It’s been more so operating in Faith. See Risk by definition is considered a situation involving exposure to danger. In my case and those that are believers in Christ, it’s only a risk when I operate outside the will of GOD. I remember hearing Eric Thomas say ” Only those who risk going to Far can possibly know how far one can Go” it made sense it was effective as long I as I was operating in the flesh But, once I really understood that Faith wasn’t a risk anymore that there was an, is a solution already provided then I began a new adventure of Being a Christain Lyricist, Motivational speaker and overall operating in ministry. while others thought he was the guy to jump and hope I land on something soft while they thought I was the man who took all the risk and faced them head on. I was began to understand that I’m the guy who took a Risk on Christ and turned into a Faith Walker no longer a Risk taker cause the fight is already fixed in my favor when I trust in my Lord an savior Jesus Christ. I am D. A Smalls
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
so in case I have not mentioned i go by the name of D. A Smalls. Its funny how i got into ministry I was always told I was a pastor not understanding the full meaning or what it cost and don’t mean financially. Truth be told I was never interested in being a Artist but I do remember in saying I wanted to give my Heart to the world to help create change not fully understanding what that would mean for me. as I grew and matured with my relationship in GOD I developed a love for speaking life into others I.E ( Children, Adults). due to my life style where it seemed everybody left being adopted and disciplined to the point of abuse I didn’t want o see others hurt or make anyone feel like they were alone. So I finally submitted my life and shared my testimony through Music and Speaking engagements. what im most proud of an to be honest as far as what sets me apart is the lifestyle I’ve lived forced me to be reselient and I’ve got extreme Faith like to the point where I almost look crazy to others. im most proud of answer the call and submitted my life to Jesus ‘christ which falls into my business of True Flaws ministry and Done Being Cautious Records. True Flaws is also a construction business where our model is to take the true flaws of your home and turn them into true beauty on top of that we want everyone to come to the lord as you are Flawed but Called thats where true flaws come in. Done Being Cautious is a movement in which were not afraid to be a Christain were not afraid to stand on the word of GOD not in a hateful matter but in Love.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
the rewarding aspect of being a artist or creative is that I get the opportunity to share about how the lord really used me as is and began to transform me along the way. I get to be goofy with things and serious when I want. there’s no limitations on who I impact as long Im being impacted by GOD.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
what society can do to help support is really pay attention to a persons post how impactful it can be when shared. stop resorting to whats hot an whats not and dig into whats true and honest. more genuine shares or even responses.
