Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Czar Scott. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Czar , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
There’s no real story here, between the headache this all comes with. (Especially doing this independently) Mixed with the joy that comes from creating and making great music. I must say, being an artist IS the best AND worst investment. Regardless of what direction it’s leaning in, investing in your dreams is never a bad decision.
It’s all a learning experience.

Czar , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Czar Scott (The C is Silent) I am a songwriter, emcee, and part time unenthused comedian (a joke) I was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, I lived in the Bay Area (NorCal) for a bit after high school, but I was really raised out here in SoCal. Between the moving as a youth and my family originally being from Philadelphia, I’ve always had a fairly different perspective than most of my peers. My mother was a singer, my father is a footwear industry success story (developed a lot of classic kicks) and I have (creatively) gifted older siblings. Being the baby and soaking up all of that awesomeness, I had to do something… Although I wasn’t the best student growing up, I always had a knack for creative writing. Considering the love for music ran in the blood, it was ALMOST a seamless transition from trying to be an undersized point guard to being an artist. Don’t get me wrong, Ball is still life analogously but, I got a little more inspired by the way Tupac or Chuck D delivered thought-provoking messages while still maintaining the quality of the music. My parents were born in the 1960s, crate digging is a constant. In which would explain how my music sounds, I guess… I truly do it for the love…
Sometime in my later teens I finally started to put pen to paper. Although I thought I was pretty good by the time I was 19…I wasn’t confident nor did I think I was at the level or good enough (maybe) to create songs with the level of depth that I found important to consider yourself a quality artist. I took some years to develop and grow as a person before I got to a point to where I felt good about my writing ability and the songs I created. Now that I’m “here” (where is here per se?) I have to keep evolving as artist.
If you haven’t caught on yet, when it comes to me, everything is about the art/music more so than it’s about being a “public figure”. In which, I’ve heard is an issue in this line of work. (joke#2) Regardless, that’s where my passion lies.
Come With Me…

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Not necessarily, There isn’t a goal or particular mission driving me more so, it’s the idea of the journey itself along with hoping the individuals who decide to listen, enjoy my work and are moved in a positive way. minimally enjoy it like a small trip or escape from the negative aspects of their reality. A goal or mission presents itself every time I think of or stumble upon a new or interesting concept that I can expand on. I would love to say I make music to enlighten but thats a tad bit too pretentious for me. Lets just have a positively good time for now hahaha
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
Yeah there is… majorly. well, maybe not majorly. This whole thing can make me a tad dramatic, verbally haha
I cant confidently lean on modern society/pop culture to influence me or help me, as far as my creative spark Is concerned. Originality or being flavourfully inspired is a rare sighting in music today. Not to mention my love for jazz, soul, and funk music. Not that today’s music isn’t good. It’s just not helpful when it comes to inspiration.
Creating your own world is highly necessary but mentally, it’s a lot sometimes.
