We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cynthia Rausch a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Cynthia, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents raised us with a hard work ethic and a love for people and the Lord.
They started our family band when I was 14, I started playing guitar and writing music for our band at 15. Their love for music and their love for us, shaped my heart and my career ambitions.
Personally, success to me isn’t how famous I am, how much money I make or how well my music does on the charting platforms.
Success is measured for me like it was for my parents, how many lives did I touch. Not just with my music, but with my everyday way of life. I want people to know they are loved. My parents taught me how to do that.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started doing music with my family early on as a teenager, traveling the Midwest, and playing at churches and city events and fairs.
During all of this, I also struggled with severe depression and anxiety and struggled from a pill popping addiction.
But God in his grace and goodness has freed me from all of that through hard work and various resources that have taught me a lot and help me through many dark Times.
I got into country music itself about eight years ago, and started releasing music to country radio about 5 to 6 years ago, and the journey since then has been pretty intense.
I have met so many people, so many amazing people through this career. From people involved in the music industry, to fans, I have encountered some of the most amazing people on planet earth.
Through all of this, I have had the honor of helping so many people struggling with similar issues that I’ve also dealt with, by helping them through my music content and my interactive personality on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
Honestly, I don’t think there’s really anything about me that sets me apart from others in this industry besides maybe the fact that I truly want my music to help people. But then again, I know that there are so many artist out there that want the same thing.
I think that music is a gift, the gift that we get to have and get to share with others. I think that Music can be used for good or bad.
But I think that always comes up to the interpretation of the listener and the artist.
I am a mother and a wife, and I love the Lord. I have chosen to go wherever the doors open, wherever the good Lord leads.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist, is to have my art change lives. To have someone email me or message me or tell me in person how much a song impacted them, helped them, or showed them another side of a struggle they were having.
I love when my music helps people heal.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I was 15, my pill addiction drove me to the point of thinking that there was no value to me anymore. I decided to overdose. But God and all of his mercy, saved me from myself.
But that situation showed me just how frail the human mind can be.
I decided in that moment to only use my life to help others see their value and worth. To bring hope and love into the lives of others.
