We recently connected with Cynthia Moos and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Cynthia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Best French Forever was born from a deep longing to reconnect with my roots.
I moved to the U.S. from Provence in 2014, and at first, I wholeheartedly embraced my new life and culture… but over time, I began feeling a disconnect with who I was and how I wanted to live. I missed the slower pace of Provence, the long lunches, the quality time with people, and the sense of presence that defines life there.
So I started Best French Forever in 2017 as a simple newsletter—a love letter, really—to share pieces of French culture and lifestyle with my friends and coworkers. I wanted to remind myself, and others, that life could be lived more intentionally, more slowly. Over time, this small act of expression grew into a mission.
After launching a Provence-themed subscription box which didn’t quite grow as I would have liked, I then took the leap to bring women to Provence, by curating and hosting slow living retreats there.
These trips are more than just travel experiences; they’ve become a space for women to rest, reflect and reconnect with themselves all while being surrounding by beauty.
What excites me most is watching them return home and incorporate some of the French art de vivre into their lifestyle. I have the hope that if more women experience this and transform their lives, collectively we can change the culture here in the US, and embrace a slower pace…

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Bonjour ! My name is Cynthia Moos and I’m the founder of Best French Forever. I grew up in a small village in Provence, surrounded by the beauty of nature and the love for our terroir and traditions.
When I moved to the U.S. to live with my American love, I was grateful for the new opportunities, but I slowly realized how disconnected I had become from the Provence way of living. That realization planted the seed for what would become Best French Forever.
Today, I help women reconnect with themselves through the Provence art de vivre — a philosophy of slowing down, savoring life, and finding joy in simplicity. I do this through two main offerings:
– my intimate women’s retreats, where guests experience the slow, sensory magic of Provence
– Le BFF Club, my community of Francophiles (Denver-based and online) who gather each month to keep their love of French culture alive through conversation and inspiration.
What sets Best French Forever apart is authenticity — I’m not teaching an aesthetic or a trend. I’m sharing the real Provence I grew up in and love, and creating spaces for women to rest, reflect, and rediscover what truly matters to them.
Seeing a woman leave Provence inspired, and reconnected to herself is the greatest reward.
At its heart, Best French Forever isn’t just about exploring a magical region of France. It’s about helping women infuse more beauty, balance, and intention into their lives — wherever they are.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Since starting Best French Forever, I’ve spent a lot of my time sharing my passion for Provence with women who shared a common love or interest for that place. I’ve used storytelling and hosted French-inspired events where women can feel seen and inspired… And by slowly building and nurturing my community, I’ve attracted amazing clients.
When you lead with connection and care, growth happens naturally. People will come for the experience, and stay (or come back!) for how it makes them feel.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my business came when I realized that the original version of Best French Forever—a subscription box designed to bring a taste of Provence to women in the U.S.—wasn’t quite the path I was meant to follow. I had bootstrapped everything myself, pouring my heart (and time) into curating authentic products from Provence. But after two years of hard work, I wasn’t seeing the growth I had hoped for. And I could feel I wasn’t quite aligned.
I then shifted to offering curated gift boxes, but the true pivot was when I decided to move from products to experiences—inviting women to come to Provence and live the lifestyle I had been trying to capture in a box.
Now, through my slow living retreats, I get to watch women reconnect with themselves and experience the magic of slowing down firsthand. It’s been the most fulfilling chapter yet.
That pivot taught me that sometimes, letting go of what’s not working isn’t really failure. It’s making space for something better to unfold!
