We recently connected with Cynthia Lee Chan and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia Lee, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Distinguishing itself from other schools of Feng Shui, Classical Feng Shui excels in providing detailed solutions to specific challenges. Through the application of the 5-elemental theory, mathematical formulas, time cycles, compass readings, and a thorough examination of your floorplan, I can systematically address and alleviate unfavorable situations while boosting effectiveness in achieving positive outcomes. This meticulous approach ensures a targeted application of Classical Feng Shui principles, optimizing the energy flow in our surroundings. The result is a harmonized environment that supports our ever-expanding potential, creating a space conducive to both personal and professional growth.
The most impactful benefit that sets Classical Feng Shui apart from other forms of Feng Shui is that it’s an in-depth study of the cycles of chi, not only in your environment but also in your life cycles, regardless of your environment.
Even though the first written information found about Classical feng shui dates back to 2800 BC, I think it fits modern science. Einstein stated that all matter is converted energy. Whether living or inanimate, everything is made up of billions of atoms. Einstein found the only solid within an atom was the nucleus, which within the atom, compares to the size of a fly in a cathedral! The rest is energy. This energy is what we call chi.
Chi is a universal vibrational energy that flows through our bodies and through our environment. There are different frequencies of this chi that are correlated to a number, element, compass sector, color, seasons, parts of the body, members of the family, shapes, animals, and specific actions.
This vibrational energy flows through our lives and through our bodies in predictable cycles that can be calculated through mathematical formulas.
Every type of chi has yin and yang properties, which are interrelated but opposing forces seen in night and day, male and female, hidden and seen, passive and aggressive and so on.
Acupuncturists work on this chi to promote healing. Classical feng shui is like the acupuncture of your environment except instead of needles on the body to heal, we use the 5 elements, wood, fire, earth, metal, and water in specific locations in your environment to help with many facets of our lives.
I consider myself the Sherlock Holmes of chi. When you share the challenges in your life, your aspirations, and any obstacles you’re facing, I leverage my expertise in Classical Feng Shui to investigate the areas of malevolent energy in your surroundings and life cycles that are impeding your progress. Then I identify the essential energy, chi, required to bolster your priorities. Subsequently, I provide tailored strategies to reconfigure the chi in your environment, enabling it to harmonize with and support your desired advancements. With these strategies and the awareness you gain, you can elevate yourself to a higher state of being.
To illustrate how Classical Feng Shui can help here are three real life examples:
A client asked me if she should add a master bedroom to her current home or buy a new home. When I calculated the chi for the sector she wanted to add on to, I found it had chi for illness. As a return client who experienced the power of working with chi, she immediately said, “we’ll sell it”. I told her she had the chi to sell this yearly cycle and then after that the chi to sell was non-existent for a while. This was in December so not much time to make it happen and not an ideal time of year. She made an appt with a realtor for the coming Sunday. I told her, based on the daily cycle, not to sign the realtor’s contract until Wed. and to put specific elements in her home asap. She did all I recommended and on Wed. after signing, they had a cash buyer come in that gave them the price they wanted.
I met the owner of an art gallery during a 6-month slow spell so she hired me. After implementing my strategies, she had $100,000 in sales in the next few weeks.
I have another client that for years could not hold on to a job and it affected her confidence, and it depressed her. She was conscientious and felt she tried so hard. In FSing her home I discovered her bedroom had chi that promoted endings. I told her she is blessed because it’s endings to her jobs, not her marriage. Her husband, at her request, constructed built in cabinetry so she could not ask him to move to another bedroom. Since we couldn’t get her out of her room, I told her to go for temp positions, or jobs that had projects or clients that would end. She opened a home organizing business. Each completed project was an ending.
She’s now had a successful business for 12 years. Using her Feng Shui awareness, she transformed her actions to take advantage of the chi she has.
Not everyone has drastic results, it depends on the chi during your cycle.
Here are ways I have helped people:
- Drawing in new job opportunities
- Improving employee issues
- Decreasing career blockages
- Bringing down unwanted legal issues
- Selling homes
- Attracting romance
- Smoothing out family harmony
- Reducing pain
- Easing depression
- Calming anger
- Finding life direction
- The list goes on and on
Cynthia Lee, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I consider myself incredibly blessed to have been a stay-at-home mom. My life was enriched with all that I ever desired – a loving husband, two wonderful sons, and a beautiful house surrounded by land in a quaint small town in Northern NM. I felt immensely grateful for the enchanting life I led and wanted to give back to society as a gesture of appreciation. After moving to this down-to-earth, family-oriented community with my husband and sons, I eagerly volunteered for various roles, expecting it to be a manageable commitment. However, my involvement grew far beyond what I had anticipated. I served on the Police Advisory Board, School Improvement Committees, Chamber of Commerce boards in two towns, the county leadership program, and Vice President on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club. Additionally, I dedicated time to helping in my son’s classrooms, sports and more, all within this tri-city community.
My primary responsibility was chairing a capital campaign to construct a new Boys and Girls Club in our town. Successfully accomplishing this task led me to receive the Citizen of the Year award from the Chamber of Commerce. Surprisingly, various influential figures, including mayors, city managers, police chief, county manager, and a senator approached me, suggesting I run for a government position. This was not in my wheelhouse! As a housewife with no prior government experience, aside from securing funds and assistance for the Boys and Girls Club, this was foreign to me. Despite my initial resistance, I remained open to Divine guidance, which seemed to come through multiple unexpected messages.
Curious to explore the possibilities, I started interviewing people and attending city and county meetings to identify a suitable government position that aligned with my skills and passions. During this process, a respected pillar in the community shared her own experience of being deeply involved in volunteer work as her kids were growing up, and now they are all grown up, and continue to remind her that she didn’t spend enough time with them, and the community doesn’t remember didley squat of what she accomplished. Her words struck a chord within me, and I knew this was the message I needed.
Later, after discovering Classical Feng Shui, I found my bedroom had an influence of government chi, which explained my strong pull towards this realm. Nevertheless, I acknowledged that my son’s formative years were fleeting, and I wanted to dedicate myself to providing them with a solid foundation.
As I completed my commitments to various boards and committees, I withdrew from community work, which left me grappling with an identity crisis. Without my external accomplishments and titles, I questioned who I truly was. This realization made me understand that my identity should not be attached to external circumstances, positions, or image but rather rooted in knowing and identifying with myself internally.
To find clarity and direction, I turned to prayer, a practice I employ during times of uncertainty. I asked for guidance on how to best serve the world, keeping my family as the priority while developing myself for the future. I sought to utilize my strengths and talents to make a positive difference and be effective in my endeavors. My heartfelt prayer opened a path before me, filled with opportunities and magic, as I set out to discover myself and embrace the journey of serving others through Classical Feng Shui.
I continue to be blown away at how the strategies and insights of Classical Feng Shui can ease physical pain, mental stress, and emotional suffering. As well as open channels to live life to our ever-expanding potential both personally and professionally. Through deepening our awareness on how the flow of chi affects our natural cycles of life we can learn how to use chi to our advantage.
Health, romance, relationships, career, financial issues — you name it — all of life’s circumstances can be transformed under the Classical Feng Shui umbrella of possibilities toward increased awareness and continual improvement.
In the Taoist world view, Chi is a cyclical, vital force of nature that is influenced by the 5 elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
Strategically placed, these elements raise the vibrational chi to attract favorable circumstances and/or reduce the chi frequency that draws in undesirable circumstances.
Creating an environment that is elementally aligned to your priorities leads to advancement in realms of life most essential to you.
Overall, Classical Feng Shui promotes expanded awareness, happiness, a stronger sense of self, and increased success.
How’d you meet your business partner?
In my search to learn, reading many books on Feng Shui, I found Eva Wong’s book, which provided a technical and insightful perspective on Feng Shui. Eva’s recommendation led me to the Yap Chang Hai School of Excellence in Malaysia. Enthusiastically, I enrolled in their home study course and received an invitation to their inaugural US class. At the event in LA, I met the class host, Angel de Para. My first words to him were, “Can you actually make a living at this?” And his humble response was “I do OK at it.” I had no idea who I was talking to and the impact he made and will continue to make in this world through the amazing science of Classical Feng Shui.
The class brought together people from across the globe, including experienced Feng Shui practitioners. Initially, I found myself overwhelmed by the complexity of Chinese formulas and unfamiliar terms, leading to frustration and uncertainty. Determined to understand, I diligently recorded the class, transcribed it, created a reference logbook, and memorized the Chinese characters within the formulas.
Gradually, the pieces started falling into place. To fill in the gaps, I sought courses from Yap Chang Hai’s students, consistently hearing about Angel’s extraordinary insights and accomplishments. Eventually, I located one of Angel’s classes in Miami, which, to my dismay, he announced to be his last. His focus on Classical Feng Shui for high-ranking corporate and government officials left me astounded by the depth of his work, but saddened he did not have time to teach.
This disappointment was shared by many students, and after numerous pleas, Angel agreed to continue teaching if someone took on the responsibility of setting up classes. Uniting individuals from various countries, backgrounds, and professions, such as government officials, corporate executives, business owners, teachers, real estate professionals, and more. This diverse group became a close-knit family over the 20+ years studying together.
In the initial years, Angel’s classes resembled Feng Shui boot camp, with rigorous daily sessions and late-night homework. The logical and straightforward aspects of the material became complex when considering the multitude of energetic influences at play. Yet, the understanding of the concepts and formulas deepened with time, as we applied the knowledge to real-life situations.
The correlation between our environment and the placement of the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) in specific areas became increasingly clear and fascinating.
Field trips with Master Angel were invaluable experiences where we observed his teachings in practice. We studied the chi of various buildings to understand Feng Shui’s impact on real-life events. For instance, we scrutinized structures such as Bernie Madoff’s building, John Lennon’s apartment, and Tiffanies during our visits to New York City. Furthermore, our analyses extended to casinos in Las Vegas, government buildings in Washington DC, Rodeo Drive, Capitol Records, the Beverly Wilshire in LA, and numerous other cities and renowned buildings across the nation, focusing on Feng Shui’s influence on their occupants and historical events.
I am eternally grateful to study with a Classical Feng Shui master that systematically discovers and tests formulas through rigorous data collecting, observation and methodical experimentation. I will continue to study with him for the rest of my life.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Studying Classical Feng Shui has significantly transformed my perspective on life. Previously, I believed that having the right attitude, working hard, and maintaining a positive outlook could manifest one’s reality. However, I’ve come to understand that there’s more at play than sheer willpower and effort. We all have moments of depression, feeling stuck or when life doesn’t progress as desired, causing self-doubt, frustration, and stress. I used to think this was a result of something a person was doing wrong. Or that someone wasn’t trying hard enough, or we lacked in some way or another. And I was particularly baffled when I, or someone I knew, who had a positive attitude, worked hard, and trusted in Divine power was still not getting what they desired.
Exploring the cycles within our bodies and our environment unveiled the significance of aligning with universal energies. This knowledge not only showed me the natural timing of life but also gave me the awareness to use my time more effectively. It provided a sense of relief by demonstrating that the challenges we all face aren’t necessarily due to personal inadequacy, but rather cycles we are meant to go through. While there are instances where Classical Feng Shui highlights actions that may not yield desired outcomes, it also beautifully showcases how to leverage energy for our benefit, even during unfavorable cycles.
The profound shift in my perception of life, alongside the strategies provided by Feng Shui, has brought me an extraordinary sense of peace and harmony within the yin and yang cycles. I now possess greater empowerment to plan my life more effectively, maximizing the flow of chi within my life and environment. What was once a perplexing and challenging path has transformed into a life flowing with graceful harmony and purpose. It’s poetry in motion.
I love sharing the tremendous value of Classical Feng Shui with others, so that they may experience this exquisite state of being.
