Cynthia, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with what makes profitability in your industry a challenge – what would you say is the biggest challenge?
People always ask me, why are you charging so much if they are just balloons, like if my knowledge and time doesn’t count. Yes balloons are not that expensive, but you will need certain level of skills to transform a simple garland to whole balloon installation, it looks easy but is not that simple.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got in the industry because of my son, being at home with a newborn and in the middle of the pandemic, I started watching videos about balloon decorations, then balloons become a hobby. And everything started with my son birthday party when people started to believe in my skills. When I told my husband that I wanted to start a balloon business, he thought I was crazy but still he supported me. After a while a decide to invest in some classes to improve my technique. Now I’m still have a lot to learn but every day I love more my job.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I think what it help me to build my reputation is my style, because is so different from another balloon decorators from my area, because I specialize in balloon sculptures and there is not that much people can do that.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
My most effective strategy for growing my clientele is being consistent on posting in my Instagram account, the majority of my clients come from my IG,
