Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cyn Marie Bastos. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cyn Marie, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Over the last 15 years, I’ve worked with people from all dimensions of diversity only to find the same root cause of people’s suffering.
As a first-generation immigrant, I was raised to chase the American dream and build generational wealth for my family. I barely had a childhood and worked tirelessly to prove to my parents that I appreciated their sacrifice for me coming to this country.
I was at the peak of my career and thriving professionally and still felt like something was missing. After years of doing traditional therapy with the same result, I decided to explore holistic medicine. I spent the next five years getting training and certifications that taught me how to explore myself and pave my own pathway to Freedom.
Services that were both inclusive and affordable were hard to find, and most of the holistic practices I was seeking were not adopted by the Western Medical system or covered under insurance. There also needed to be more education about these modalities, and the practitioners often struggled to bring awareness to their offerings and serve their communities. This ignited my passion for service and is why I started a non-profit FreedOm Philosophy Collective.
Our mission is to serve our communities with accessible wellness programs and services that celebrate people where they are and create space for people to become radically free. We believe that every path to FreedOm is unique and serve to empower others to create their own FreedOm Philosophy.

Cyn Marie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m an Executive Wellness Coach passionate about the intersection of personal and professional FreedOm. I have a deep passion for helping people find balance and fulfillment in their personal and professional lives. It’s a unique and important role that requires a combination of empathy, intuition, knowledge, and experience.
My interest in coaching began early in my career when I realized the impact of stress and burnout on my own health. I’ve always been interested in wellness and coaching, but it wasn’t until I saw the incredible transformation on myself that can result from prioritizing these practices. To further refine my skills, I pursued specific certifications and training in areas like mindfulness, wellness, yoga, somatic therapy, reiki, and energy work to name a few.
As a coach, I focus on a variety of niches, but work-life balance and stress management I find particularly important for many professionals. Through one-on-one coaching sessions, group workshops, and online courses, I help individuals develop personalized plans for improving their overall health and well-being personally and professionally.
I believe that everyone’s wellness journey is unique, which is why I always prioritize a client-centered approach. By recommending practices that resonate with each person’s individual needs and align with their values, I help them move towards sustainable, long-term change.
One of the most rewarding things about coaching is seeing the positive impact it can have on my clients. From individuals who have completely transformed their work and personal lives to those who simply feel more balanced and grounded, each success story is a testament to the powerful potential of prioritizing wellness.
Ultimately, I believe that my work is not just a job, but a calling. I’m truly passionate about supporting others in achieving their goals towards a healthier and happier life.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a first-generation immigrant, I was raised to chase the American dream and earn my right to be here. By 14 years old I had two jobs and earned $10,000 to purchase my first vehicle. I graduated high school with an associate’s degree and powered through my Business Management degree to start my career early.
I barely had a childhood and worked tirelessly to prove to my parents that I appreciated the sacrifice they made for me. The road along the way was filled with resistance, which has allowed me to learn resilience and become who I am today.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
My core belief is that there is no such thing as a smooth road, only moments in time where we find stillness to observe the view.
So much of my life was lived at an unsustainable pace, and once I finally let off the gas, I was horrified by the view around me. Looking back was even more terrifying, so I just continued to power through life’s moments until the moment life came crashing into me.
