We were lucky to catch up with Curtis McCann recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Curtis , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful project I’ve created would have to be starting Eat , Drink & Tour Saint Louis. In just a year this group has grown to over 30,000 members and 600,000 monthly visitors. This group has become a haven for foodies and tourist to connect and explore their hometown.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a food creator , critic and influencer. I grew up in the food industry and became a self taught chef. Closing my restaurant back in 2021 “Juanita’s” helped me shift gears towards building a online presence, Fast forward to 2025, my personal brand has 18,000 followers, a daily viewership of 70,000 and 2 million monthly.
Some of my most recent collaborations include Blue Bell Ice Cream and Metro Transit.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by expanding off my talent of cooking. My prior experience in restaurants helped with me connecting my brand to other business owners. My culinary background helped my reviews stick out in comparison to other food influencers, I go more in depth.
The advice I would give to someone starting out is to build off your talent and the things you enjoy and will never get tired of because that’s the fuel for your consistency. Consistency helps you grow.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think my personality and knowledge helped lure people in and my creativity is what helped build my reputation. I think people can appreciate my ability to pivot and constantly create unique material.
Me building my personal brands from ground zero to what they are now, is what helped me win collaborations and opportunities.
