We recently connected with Curtis Glover and have shared our conversation below.
Curtis , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
Yes, I wish I had started my art career sooner. Early on, I did not quite know how to monetize painting for a living let alone doing mural work so I worked in art fields commercially at first for other businesses.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into doing murals full-time in the beginning of 2016 when I lost my father and was going nowhere with jobs in the art industry where I was just another cog in the machine. I reached a breaking point and decided to take a chance with some leads to paint some mural work at some restaurants locally. Other events like festivals, live shows, and public events allowed me to showcase my abilities and develop a reputation of sorts. It helped when dealing with future clients to have a body of work to show for. I tend to collaborate well with a business’s needs in terms of how they want to be portrayed visually to their audience and customers.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The fact I get to wake up everyday and decide how my day is going to be is a satisfying but also challenging feeling. The idea of 100% responsibility in your occupation with no guidance or help can feel difficult and at the same time that much more rewarding when you land a new gig or complete a project. There is unlimited possibilities in this industry in terms of what direction you want to take with your work. Biggest rewards with job include client satisfactions, developing friendships along the way, meeting other artists at events and inspiring the youth to pursue the arts.

We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
NFT’s were just another trendy scam to come along and take people’s money. I saw it pick up in the beginning and was hesitant. I had other artist friends get into it or try it once to test the waters. It seemed like an opportunistic scam after multiple celebrities and online personalities rug-pulled millions of investors many times over. Plus the art was pretty bad and recycled so I knew it was complete garbage. I was never really tempted due to not quite understanding the concept of “owning” a .jpg or .gif file and saying you had the official certificate of owning it. Some form of this will happen again in the future I’m sure.
