Cure La Vie, appreciate you joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

As we swapped stories about our frustrating experiences, it became clear that we were all on the hunt for a solution that was natural, effective, and pure—something that didn’t require us to be experts in deciphering complicated ingredient lists. We were united by this common need, and that’s when one of us pulled out a small, unlabeled tin from her bag and passed it around. The balm inside was simple but felt like magic—smooth, soothing, and instantly hydrating. We were all shocked when she told us that she had made it herself, using pure, organic ingredients to care for her family’s sensitive skin. That moment was a lightbulb moment. We felt like we had stumbled upon something rare—an all-natural skincare solution that worked.
At that moment, it wasn’t just about dry skin anymore—it was about creating something that would bring authenticity back to the beauty industry. All of us had backgrounds that gave us a unique perspective on what we could offer: two of us were experienced formulators, one of us was a veteran who deeply believed in giving people products they could trust, and another had worked in the beauty world. The more we talked, the more we realized that the skincare industry was saturated with products that were filled with synthetic chemicals and unclear promises. What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
At Cure La Vie, the best source of new clients has been the in-person shopping events we’ve participated in. These events allow us to meet people face-to-face, share our story, and most importantly, give them the opportunity to sample our products. There’s something truly special about letting customers experience our products firsthand. Once they feel the difference of our natural, waterless moisturizers on their skin, they often fall in love with the quality and simplicity of what we offer. These events have been invaluable in building personal connections and trust with our customers, who often return to us because they know they’re getting skincare that’s not only effective but made with integrity. We’ve found that many of our new customers come from these face-to-face interactions, where we can show them exactly what makes Cure La Vie unique, and they walk away as loyal fans.
Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
Yes, we manufacture all of our products ourselves in a dedicated lab space. From the very beginning, we knew that if we were going to create skincare that was truly natural, effective, and aligned with our values, we needed to have full control over the production process. This decision was rooted in our commitment to quality—since we are our first customers, we are extremely discriminating when it comes to the ingredients we use and the final product we produce.
Starting out, we didn’t have prior experience in large-scale manufacturing, but we were determined to create something special. We took the time to learn the ins and outs of the manufacturing process, experimenting with different ingredients and formulations in small batches. Our products generally go through several rounds of testing and reformulating before they become available to customers. This ensures that every product is just right—effective, gentle, and beneficial.
One of the most important aspects of our process is the infusion of beneficial herbs. We take extra care to include herbs that help soothe inflammation and support healthy skin. This is something that sets us apart from other brands; we don’t just create products that are moisturizing, we ensure they’re also soothing and nourishing on a deeper level.
Through this hands-on approach, we’ve learned so many valuable lessons along the way about the importance of quality control, testing, and refining our formulations. We’ve come to realize that true craftsmanship requires patience and persistence, but it’s always worth it. This is the approach we continue to take, ensuring that every product we create reflects our commitment to quality and our passion for offering something truly special to our customers.
