Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cuit and Necalli Lucio. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cuit and Necalli , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
At the very young age of 2 years old communication was being noticed as a potential issue, and it still is being diagnosed as selective mute and non verbal . The beginning of utilizing boards, paper and sometimes even canvas to communicate was what started this journey of becoming an artist. We all don’t know what our future will be like but for us our art might end up being our sole future our careers our way to be part of society.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
We are two brothers diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, selective mutism and non verbal. Art has become our therapy and a way to express what sometimes is hard to say verbally. We are in the process of understanding what being social is and that is reflected in our artwork. We enjoy creating characters with different facial expressions and also scenes with different dimensions. We provide our customers with unique note cards available for any occasion. Being able to bring art and an awareness to others about our challenges has to be the proudest thing we can ever do. We would love for art lovers to get a glimpse of how we see the world and how the world makes us feel.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
We absolutely believe NFT’s are the future from a digital stand point. We have actually considered several collections for NFT’s here in the next couple of months. We definitely believe that NFT’s can’t just be one single digital print , it has to be a community people want to be part of, a community that people want to evolve with, and we definitely are looking for the best way to make that happen.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
As two young individuals that are trying so hard to become part of society we absolutely 100% depend on society’s support but not only as artists but also as a society that wants to become aware of challenges others might have. We don’t only provide a piece of artwork, we provide a piece of our moment through a struggle, or a victory of our daily life. Society must seek artists , creators through all avenues.
