Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cue Perry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cue, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
Transitioning to full time Artist was a long journey. Its both exhilarating and challenging. Embracing the vibrant art scene of the city, I navigate the complexities of establishing my voice while drawing inspiration from the rich cultural tapestry around me. The journey involves long hours in the studio, a relentless pursuit of skill, and the need to build connections within a competitive environment. Balancing the pressures of financial stability with the desire for creative expression.
This path is not just about personal growth; it’s also about contributing to a broader narrative, inspiring others, and finding my place in a historically underrepresented field.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Pittsburgh native Quentin ( Cue ) “ C.B.Perry “ has been quietly pursuing a career in the arts his entire life . He graduated from Brashear High School in 2004 with a diploma in applied technology from which he was taught the basics of graphic design and computer programming. From there he attended the University of Pittsburgh and majored in graphic design. After his first year Cue felt irresolute about pursuing a career in the arts so he decided to change his major and pursue other ventures. After a few years he bounced around in various career fields, until he arrived to the age of 30 and decided to pursue art once again. Cue Perry takes a unconventional view of social, political and cultural topics . Perry deconstructs pop culture in such a vibrant way , visually representing the colorful randomness present in daily life and promotes thinking outside of the box . Perry has sold nearly 5000 original paintings world wide , from Murals to canvases , his Artwork can be viewed all over the city of Pittsburgh and he even has an Ice cream flavor named after him
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
