Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Crystal Wimbrey . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Crystal , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I’m the oldest child of three siblings, all raised in an occasional church-going home. Our family didn’t attend Sunday church service every week however our parents firmly believed in the proverb “Train Up a Child in the way they should go”.
Although our mother enrolled my sister and I in public schools from Kindergarten to senior high, she chose a
different route for my brother who is 13 years younger than me. When it was time for him to begin kindergarten, she enrolled him in a Christian private school to build his Biblical foundation and protect him from the negative influenced behavioral students in his assigned public school district.
It was a great however unpopular decision because 10% of students in the U.S attended the private school in 1995. By the second year of his attendance, I couldn’t help but notice his increasing Bible knowledge as I was very impressed by my little brother and the creative curriculum used to teach him. This impression on me later became my inspiration to write a unique children’s book titled “Alphascripts-The ABC’s of the Bible” that maximizes early childhood learning by combining the alphabet and the Bible from A to Z. As I began the process of writing, I researched and notice there was a lack of children’s books that educate and instill core values in the literary market. This revealed that private Christian school students only had access to a self-empowering style of learning.
This revelation affirmed my reason to produce and fill a need in the market for 90% of the families with children attending public school. My passion to introduce children to the fundamentals of the Bible in addition to early education will leave a legacy of greatness along with those core values that are proven to decrease the risk of low self of esteem, bullying and academically challenged students.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Some of the challenges with my first book was figuring out what and how to publish a book. From editing to illustrations, a great children’s book requires simplicity, and captivating illustrations to maintain preschoolers’ attention. I worked diligently to translate extensive Biblical context into a child-like level of comprehension content and find an illustrator that could capture and bring my vision to life with fun bright colorful pictures. Overall, I had a great experience and I’m extremely proud of the final product.
Alphascripts books are purposed to maximize early childhood learning by combining the alphabet sounds with biblical words and letter hand sign language. Furthermore, the content encourages core values, ethical behavior and a positive view on life and learning. A child’s spiritual base is usually developed during their early years. I specialize in maximizing early childhood learning. I’m proud to produce a book that teaches and instills self-love and respect for others. From Abraham to Zion, Alphascripts is uniquely set apart from the average Alphabet book, because the words for each letter are empowering and the hand letter sign language is such a fun and interactive way to learn.

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there!” Success starts from within because a positive mindset and view about oneself is necessary for a business to thrive during its ups and downs. The power of the mind and tongue is the heartbeat of a vision so it must be marching to a positive uplifting rhythm. Recently, I read an empowering Instagram post that said: “You have to have a level of confidence that even when things don’t work out for you, you’re confident that they actually worked out for you.” This type of belief sets an unstoppable tone and trajectory towards success.
I’m an advocate of speaking life and dodging negative thoughts and words. The Proverb “death and life are in the power of the tongue” is my criteria as a wife, mom, and business owner.
