We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Quayle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful, there must be some level of fear. The success is overcoming that fear and learning to lean into the fear, and trust it. Allowing that fear to catapult you into something bigger than you could have ever imagined.
Crystal, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Crystal has an abundant background in Elementary Education combined with a deep-rooted passion for dance, creative arts, mindfulness, and movement.
She started her photography business about 10 years ago, focusing on capturing primarily family, friends, animals, and kids. More recently, she has found beauty in nature, organic moments in motherhood, and documenting mothers and family generations.
Upon starting her own family, Crystal recognized the need to address lingering childhood wounds. Her children became her catalysts for change, inspiring her own healing journey.
About two years ago, Crystal discovered Breathwork, which swiftly became her weekly motivation for personal transformation and discovery. Through this practice, she connected with her ancestors, journeyed around the world, and joyfully healed old wounds. This practice has allowed her to expand and soften her heart, in ways that she couldn’t before.
After immersing herself in weekly breathwork practice for a year and a half, Crystal enrolled in the Alchemy Breathwork Facilitator training with Jodi Joy. She graduated with enthusiasm and is now eager to inspire others in their healing experiences.
As a certified Alchemy Breathwork Facilitator and Usui Reiki practitioner, trained by Camile Coss, Crystal integrates movement, music, and mindfulness into her healing sessions. Reiki has been a cherished addition to her healing toolkit, infusing her life with light and love.
Crystal is passionate about guiding others through their healing journeys using breath and is excited to share her expertise and passion with you. She is using these new tools to help guide her through her photography adventures and bring more breath and mindfulness during photography sessions as well.
Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Being a photographer, there are so many resources out there for support, especially in the digital world that we live in currently. One tool I wish I had known about sooner was Narrative Select, it is a culling tool that has saved me so much time. I love to click away on my camera in the moment of shooting, but that gives me more time on the back end culling through my images. Narrative Select allows me to see my images easily and gives me red flags if my client’s eyes are closed in an image, or out of focus. This tool also sends my selection of images into Lightroom for me, making the culling process much less time-consuming. The culling layer used to feel heavy, and with Narrative Select it has become much more enjoyable and moves with ease.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My heart has intuitively guided my creative journey. Most recently I have really noticed and tuned into my heart. Giving gratitude and listening to what it needs. When my heart is full of love and light I can send that same love and light to my family, friends, and clients.
