We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Crystal Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Crystal below.
Crystal, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
I began my journey in acting by taking classes, which really gave me a solid foundation to work from. But just as important has been learning to trust my instincts and go with what feels right in the moment. Oh, and I can’t forget the magic of YouTube—it’s been a fantastic resource for picking up tips and techniques along the way!
Knowing what I know now, I would focus on continuing to progress and remind myself that it’s okay if a particular technique or style doesn’t resonate with me. Embracing that earlier would have allowed me to explore different approaches more freely and find what truly works for me without feeling stuck or discouraged.
There are so many essential skills in acting, but a few that stand out to me are improvisation, character breakdown, and understanding the elements of a scene. Improv is particularly important because it helps you trust your instincts and tap into authentic, creative responses without overthinking. Mastering character breakdown allows you to dive deeper into your roles, while grasping the elements of a scene helps you understand how everything fits together. It’s also important to know how to tailor your acting for specific projects, as film and TV require a different approach than theater.
One of my biggest obstacles used to be my location; not having access to local acting classes or resources made it tough to fully pursue my passion. However, I’ve realized I can still seek out online resources and connect with others in the community, which has really helped me stay motivated and continue growing despite those challenges. On top of that, I often struggled with self-doubt, which made me hesitant to step outside my comfort zone. It was frustrating at times, but I learned to get creative and push myself in new ways.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m an actress and content creator, and entertainment has always been close to my heart. Growing up, I was constantly creating—writing songs, teaching myself piano to make my music sound better, and dreaming up short films. Now, I specialize in everything from movie and TV show reenactments to point-of-view (POV) scenarios, relatable moments, and comedic skits. For me, it’s all about bringing stories to life and connecting with people through laughter and creativity.
What truly sets me apart is my passion for storytelling and the energy I bring to my content. I truly love the entire process—whether it’s piecing together outfits, styling hair and makeup, or finding the perfect camera angles.
My goal is to connect with my audience in a meaningful way. I believe that sharing a piece of myself through my funny ideas not only entertains but also creates a strong bond with my community.
I am most proud of my tenacity, courage, and determination to actually post my videos on social media, especially knowing how critical people can be. It’s been a journey of changing my mindset and proving to myself that my content is ‘good enough.’ I used to struggle with strong self-doubt, but overcoming that and learning to focus on what serves me has been an invaluable skill. Embracing my creativity and sharing it with the world has truly been empowering.
To my amazing followers and fans, I just want to take a moment to say how incredibly grateful I am for each and every one of you. Your support means the world to me! I see all your comments, and trust me, more content and part twos are definitely on the way! I’m so excited about the chance to meet all of you and collaborate on some fun projects.
I’m really working on building a community where we can all relate, share laughs, and enjoy some new material together. A lot of the things I create come from those funny thoughts and moments we’ve all experienced, so I can’t wait to share them with you!
And to potential clients, I’d absolutely love the opportunity to chat about how we can team up to create something amazing. If you’re interested, let’s set up a call or meeting—I’m buzzing with ideas and can’t wait to create some fantastic content together!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is envisioning something in my mind and then bringing it to life. There’s something truly magical about transforming an idea into a tangible piece of work. Even more amazing is when people connect with and enjoy what I’ve created. Knowing that my work resonates with others is incredibly fulfilling.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My creative journey is deeply rooted in a special memory with my mom. I started this journey with her before she passed away, and it was one of the last projects we worked on together. Continuing this path feels like a way to honor her legacy and keep our shared dreams alive. My mission is to keep evolving as an artist/creative and to show up for myself, all while saying to her, ‘Ma, I actually did it.’ It’s about creating, growing, and celebrating that bond every step of the way.
