We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Jennings recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Crystal thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I taught myself how to do makeup by watching a lot of Youtube videos and traveling out of town to take one on one classes. I don’t think I would have sped up the process but I wish I would have started at an earlier age. The most essential skills with being a makeup artist is to be familiar with different skin types and skin tones. The more you know, the more business you will get. My only obstacle was thinking the only way to learn was to pay with money I didn’t have for school but luckily someone introduced to Youtube.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
