Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystal Ifekoya.
Hi Crystal, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey has been one of resilience, passion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others reach their full potential. I dropped out of school and had two children before I was even 18 years old. Both my parents were in prison, and I lived in a shelter for two years with my two children.
Despite these challenges, I’ve dedicated the past 15 years to empowering women through education, entrepreneurship, and community. I understand firsthand the obstacles women face and the transformative power of education and opportunity. From overcoming homelessness to earning my Master’s in Accounting and Bachelor’s in Business Management, I’ve experienced the importance of perseverance.
Fifteen years ago, I founded the WHOW Organization to equip countless women with the tools and confidence to pursue their dreams. Beyond academia, I’ve taken on leadership roles in national organizations like ATD, advocating for women’s voices in shaping the future of learning and development. My volunteer work with SCORE and the Junior League of Tulsa further hones my leadership skills, especially in diversity and inclusion.
My commitment to empowering women extends into my business, BOSS Encounters, where I provide website design and business consulting services. As a single mother raising three amazing daughters, I’ve guided them to high school graduation and beyond, demonstrating that despite life’s challenges, success is achievable.
My values of leadership, faith, and loyalty drive everything I do. I am a mentor, a champion, and a living testament to the power of dedication and unwavering belief. By empowering women to step into their power and build their own dreams, I aim to leave an indelible mark on the world, one success story at a time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been far from smooth. I’ve faced numerous challenges along the way that tested my resilience and determination.
One of the biggest struggles was overcoming homelessness. It was a difficult period in my life where I had to navigate through uncertainty and instability while trying to pursue my education and career goals. The lack of stable housing made it challenging to focus on my studies and plan for the future. However, I refused to let my circumstances define me, and I persevered through sheer determination and hard work.
Balancing my roles as a single mother and a business owner also presented its own set of challenges. Juggling the responsibilities of running a business while ensuring my daughters had the support and guidance they needed was no easy feat. There were many late nights and early mornings, but seeing the impact of my work on both my business and my daughters made it all worthwhile.
Additionally, breaking into the male-dominated fields of business consulting, marketing, and website design posed its own challenges. I encountered biases and stereotypes along the way, but I refused to let them hold me back. Instead, I used these experiences as fuel to push myself harder and prove that women are just as capable and deserving of success in these fields.
Despite the obstacles I’ve faced, I’ve always remained steadfast in my commitment to empowering women and making a difference in their lives. Each challenge I’ve overcome has only made me stronger and more determined to continue fighting for equality and opportunity for all.
