We recently connected with Crystal Hoang and have shared our conversation below.
Crystal, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I want my legacy to be one of breaking cycles and redefining possibilities. I want my children to see that they don’t have to follow the traditional 9-to-5 path, and be unhappy in a position if it doesn’t align with their dreams. Instead, they can create their own opportunities with hard work, dedication, and a vision for something greater. The legacy starts with me, as I build a life that blends passion, purpose, and resilience. I hope to inspire them and others to chase what truly fulfills them and leave a meaningful impact on the world. When people think of me, I hope they remember someone who dared to dream big, empowered others, and showed her children what’s possible.

Crystal, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Crystal Hoang, an entrepreneur, digital marketing producer and content creator based in San Diego. My journey into this field began with a passion for storytelling and an understanding of the power of social media in connecting people and driving business growth. I started creating content in 2020 and quickly realized how impactful digital platforms could be in building brands and inspiring communities.
While obtaining my degree in Business and learning that my passion is in marketing, a major turning point for me was my experience with Monat. Joining the network marketing world not only introduced me to the power of social media but also helped me step out of my shell. It gave me the confidence to show up authentically, connect with people, and develop skills in sales, leadership, and branding. Monat provided the foundation I needed to pursue entrepreneurship on a larger scale, and I’m incredibly grateful for how it shaped my growth.
Today, I wear multiple hats in my career, from managing the digital space for, Newsweek’s, Unconventional —a show highlighting the importance of military service members—to running my own ventures, including 45 Degree Media, a marketing agency designed to help businesses grow. I also work on my personal brand, where I connect with audiences through motivational content, family life, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into my creative process.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine creativity with strategy. I don’t just create content—I craft experiences that resonate deeply with audiences while delivering measurable results for clients. Whether it’s amplifying a brand’s online presence, engaging with followers, or helping businesses tell their unique stories, my goal is to make meaningful connections that translate into growth and success.
I’m most proud of the relationships I’ve built and the positive impact my work has had on others. From inspiring my daughters to dream big to helping businesses and individuals realize their potential, every milestone feels like a step toward something greater.
For potential clients and followers, I want them to know that my work is deeply personal to me. I believe in authenticity, creativity, and the power of community. Whether it’s through a strategic marketing campaign, a compelling social media post, or a story that sparks change, I’m committed to making a difference and helping others succeed. My brand is rooted in passion, purpose, and the drive to inspire others to break barriers and build a life they’re proud of.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
My cofounder for 45 Degree Media was someone I had known casually through social media for a while. We’re from the same hometown, and I always admired his entrepreneurial spirit—he’s been launching startups and building businesses for over a decade.
Because of how active I was on social media promoting Monat, he noticed my consistency, drive, and ambition. I was always showing up and putting myself out there, and that caught his attention. One day, he reached out to hop on a quick call, pitched his business idea, and I immediately saw the potential. I said yes to the opportunity, and the rest is history.
I truly see him as a mentor and guide. He’s someone who challenges me to think bigger and supports me in pushing past my limits. Our partnership is built on mutual respect and a shared vision, and it’s been an incredible journey so far.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I love this question because growing social media platforms is literally what I do! For my personal audience, I focused on authenticity, vulnerability, and entertainment. I showed up as my true self, shared my story, and aimed to inspire others along the way.
But beyond just showing up, I’ve learned that building an audience takes strategy. It’s not just about how consistently you post—it’s about understanding the platform’s algorithm and creating high-quality content that aligns with what the platform prioritizes. That means paying attention to trends, analyzing what works for your audience, and always striving to create engaging, valuable content.
For those just starting out, my advice is to balance authenticity with strategy. Be yourself and tell your story, but also take the time to understand how the platform works and what type of content performs well. Posting with intention will always yield better results than just posting for the sake of consistency. Show up regularly, focus on quality, and remember that trust and connection are the foundation of any loyal community.
