We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful CRYSTAL HADNOTT. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with CRYSTAL below.
CRYSTAL, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
While excelling in my professional career as a nonprofit executive, I was laid off. As I was searching for my next job, I decided to spend more doing the things that I love–health and wellness. Ten years prior to this moment, I became a Certified Nutritionist, because I was searching for answers to questions I had about my own health that my doctors were not answering. So, I logged onto Facebook and shared a status that I was taking on clients. By the end of the day, I had 5 new clients. By the next week, I was on a local radio show sharing my story and new journey working with these new clients. By the next month, I was featured on a local news segment. In a matter of 30 days, I had 20 clients and a website. I actually had a business! Using my strategic partnership and fund development skills from my professional experience, I created an entire brand and movement just by sharing my personal story.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I became a student of nutrition after a medical crisis in her 20s and being diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. After conducting many hours of research on the healing properties of food, I became passionate about studying nutrition, which lead to her receiving several certifications and publishing numerous scholarly articles.
I have comprehensively studied over 100 dietary theories, the science behind food as well as innovative methods in integrative wellness in developing my professional principles and private practice. In my private practice, I offer nutrition consultations and on-going nutrition counseling. In addition, I offer corporate wellness workshops. All of my service are offered virtually, but will conduct in-person workshops upon request.
Currently, I am a Certified Integrative Nutritionist, Functional Wellness Coach, speaker, and advocate curating a holistic health revolution to help people operate at peak performance and reach optimal wellness.
My wellness philosophy is one that looks at the complete person and focusing on the full spectrum–physical, mental, emotional, spiritual wellness of the individual. I believe that since people are multi-dimensional, health has be addressed with a multi-faceted approach.
My approach is rooted in fully educating her clients to live a completely nourished life and armed them with the tools to take charge of their health.
As an authority in the wellness industry, Crystal has written several e-books on various wellness topics, which is available on my website. I am releasing my highly anticipated book, Marathon Mindset: Nourishing Principles Beyond the Plate.
My work extends beyond spreading her knowledge and coaching on nutrition, she is an advocate for food justice. Through varies nonprofit organizations, I am dedicated to empowering communities in response to health inequities, food insecurities and economic pressures that prevent access to healthy, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food.
As an expert in my industry, I have nationally featured in SHAPE Magazine, Women’s Health Magazine, Runner’s World as well as seen on ABC, CBS, CNN, and more. She has partnered with a multitude of organizations serving as their nutrition expert facilitator/speaker, such as Microsoft, Dropbox, Chevron and the Federal Reserve Bank. I have also collaborated with notable brands as an influencer and ambassador, including Goli and Airborne.
I am available for nutrition consulting, wellness counseling, health coaching, conferences, lectures, seminars, workshops and retreats.
I have penned my memoir, The Finish was Just the Start, outlining the story of my health and fitness journey. As a following up to my memoir, she just released a daily devotional and journal, Rise & RUN.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think sharing my personal health and wellness story has helped me build my reputation within the market. I not only obtain the knowledge in the field, but I have also experienced what most of my clients are experiencing.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
COMMUNICATION! I am believer in effective communication. Each client is different and responds to a different form of communication. I always ask each client the best way to communicate with them–call, text, email, etc. In addition, communicating and following up with clients often build a relationship between you and the client. Through this stewardship, your client will become your best growth strategy through word of mouth referrals.
