We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Fielder recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. What’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
Vulnerability. While I don’t think it’s a matter of people disagreeing with that I do know it’s an issue for a lot of people to trust enough to be vulnerable. Even in marriage you find that spouses struggle with being completely vulnerable to each other out of fear and lack of trust.

Crystal, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the Author and Creator of #CrystalsCounsel and the Owner and CEO of DrunkenSweetsInc. Two completely different business venues but both significant to who I am as a person. #CrystalsCounsel is a platform that allows me to encourage and motivate my readers/listeners (mainly women). Often times we as women struggle with life, Motherhood, relationships, friendships etc and we need someone who operates in wisdom that can help us navigate without feeling judged. #CrystalsCounsel offers that space without them ever having to be in a position to directly speak on what they’re going through (unless they want they’ll contact me privately). While DrunkenSweetsInc is me being able to operate in what I consider to be my love language of cooking. I enjoy creating meals and ideas that are tantalizing to the eye. Cooking desserts that remind you of your childhood or favorite 5Star restaurant but it’s cost effective. Both extremely different but both target different ranges of my personality. I’m a passionate person, and I absolutely love speaking life into others. I love giving cyber hugs and love, bringing positive energy and motivating people from a genuine place. I’ve been hurt and betrayed a lot by those who have claimed they loved me and I’ve taken that pain and reflect positivity on others because I know what broken feels like. If I survived that, I want other people to know they can too. As far as my food business, I started baking at 14 and as I got older I found cooking to be therapeutic to me. I love seeing peoples reaction when they taste my food. The calmness, their smile, their moment to just enjoy and allow their senses to talk to their body, mind, and soul.
The beauty of what I do is although these avenues are quite different, the goal is my operation and intent is the same. Positivity and the ability to embrace how you’re feeling in different ways.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Although I’m not anywhere near where I would desire as an influencer I found that me being my authentic self is what gravitated people to me. You never know who’s watching you and I always keep that in mind. I remain true to who I am and I don’t act for social status. I’ve found that those who follow me respect my honesty and feel safe with me in knowing I’m not a gimmick. People want to know you, feel like you’re touchable, relatable. So, my advice would be to remain who you are. Don’t let popularity and money make you change your authentic self because that’s who God created you to be!!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Transparency and consistency. For #CrystalsCounsels there was a level of transparency that I had that allowed my supporters to know that I’ve been where they are. That my story wasn’t to tell my business but to help them overcome their obstacles in life knowing that they’re not alone. Someone else has been where they’re at now. For DrunkenSweetsInc it was consistency in posting food pictures, videos, my knowledge about food, and ability to create meals that causes those who see it to desire to taste it or ask for the recipe lol I think to be successful you have to be consistent and with social media and the world we live in now where people want to feel connected to who they support, a certain level of transparency is needed.
