We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Crystal & Dymon Reed a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal & Dymon, thanks for joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Well my sister and I started waist training about 12 years ago, we fell in love with the results and the way it gave us the perfect hourglass figure. But we also got tired of spending so much of our money on products that wasn’t good quality & that didn’t last very long. So we decided to come up with our own brand of products.

Crystal & Dymon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

We are two twin sisters from Detroit Mi, We like to consider ourselves experts in the waist training industry. We have waist trainers, fajas, corsets, etc… we also recently added fitness apparel to our brand (super excited about that) . Here at Double Strapped we are dedicated to the hourglass figure & we believe in providing it without breaking the bank. We want every woman to look and feel their absolute best.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I would definitely have to say word of mouth. In the beginning stages of building our brand I thought social media would be the best marketing strategy to build clientele. But it’s actually word of mouth. Providing great products along with excellent customer service goes a very long way.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

When we first started three years ago we were using our own money along with family and friends who saw the vision and donated. Bootstrapping is the correct word (lol)
