We recently connected with Crystal Djordjevich and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Crystal , thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
3 years ago, two little baby goats enter our lives. That tuned into more goats, horses, cows, alpacas, a donkey and a lot of birds! The need for rescue and the love the farm life quickly took over. Just recently, I left the corporate world, the long hours and the guaranteed paycheck to focus on the farm. This was a risk we discussed and decided was necessary to give these animals the care and commitment they deserve as we started to grow and the need became more evident. Through events, my goat milk products and donations, it has so far proven to be a success!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
At GeorgiaVich Farms, we are a small family ran rescue that is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of every animal. We support these babies with our goat milk products made here in small batches from our very own goats and events we host or attend throughout the year. We offer farm tours and private events and try to make the best of sharing what we have with the community while also funding the farm rescue.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We are open about who we are. The tours and events we offer are real life. Some of our fur babies may not be doing well in the moment being a rescue but we don’t hide the truth. Not all days are easy days and not all rescues can be rehabilitated. We do our absolute best and we share the heart break with those that are invested in what we do. Our product selection is growing daily and I adjust based on what people are looking for. The prices are low in comparison in this area and we are always open to feedback and suggestions. Our rescues feel loved and while it may take some time to get used to all the traffic, all the farm visits are great for the visitors as well as the animals. Some say it’s therapy.
We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.
All of our goat milk products are made here on the farm with our goat milk. We had a great mentor when we first started and in the beginning and while the goal was not to fund the farm with it, it became the new vision as we started to grow. The ingredients are kept the same as when we first started to ensure we are delivering the same products our customers have grown accustomed to. We are selling in local small businesses and the response has been amazing.
