We were lucky to catch up with CRYSTAL DAWN recently and have shared our conversation below.

CRYSTAL, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Has your work ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized?

Being a psychic, people tend to think that I’m always “on” and reading them, lol. This is SO not true! I only read others when I’m allowed to, with their full consent. A funny little story was when I was at a family get together and my brothers friend learned of my gifts and started walking away every time I came near. I finally asked him why he was doing that and he said “I don’t want you reading my mind”… It was a great moment to share how my gifts work and to help him recognize his own.

CRYSTAL, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I became psychic through an innate connection to the natural world around me – the trees, the bees, the sky – and through intuition and the development of my ‘gifts’. I use Oracle cards as a tool to share information and provide validation during readings, however, I don’t actually need them. I’ve also been trained in several modalities, and I have always found that following my own signs, messages, and intuition has provided the most growth for me. I have experience in Reiki, card readings, and creating magical items like candles.

When it comes to solving problems for others, I use a combination of my psychic abilities and my training in various modalities. I can read energy and get images and words that I feel the great push to share. I also use Fairy Reiki to provide healing energy. I often suggest remedies like special flowers and plants that the person can work with in order to help them move forward with their issue.

What’s important to know about me is that I’m a ‘stop and smell the roses’ kind of gal. I love watching birds and seeing energy on all things and people. I value love, honesty, compassion, courage, and dependability in life. I believe in the importance of beauty, ritual, altars, and using magical items to bring magic into the modern/urban life. I also believe we can bring the outside in and share our inside magic out in our world.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

As a creative person, I am not a professional at writing, marketing, and coming up with cool things to say. I wish I’d known sooner that paying for assistance is not an expensive investment. I had imagined thousands of dollars being spent and it really isn’t like that. Not to say that there aren’t expensive options, but there are not-so-expensive options for those just starting or with small budgets. Use your intuition (follow your gut) and find the right person or company, to help you grow, create a brand, or offer marketing strategies.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

I have been blessed with my gifts as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, a young person having precognizant dreams and sharing them with others was disturbing for them. Because of this, I shut down quite a bit. When I finally decided to share my gifts with others, then make money doing so, I had to learn that not everyone will accept this aspect of me. I had to watch people I thought were friends, walk away. In the beautiful way the universe works, I found many other wonderful souls that I could connect with. But, it was a hard pill to swallow.
