We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Crystal Conway a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Crystal , thanks for joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

It takes being committed with yourself. Through commitment you can gain motivation to pursue success. Even though everyone’s opinions of success is different, you should never doubt yourself. You are your strongest competitor, always stay positive.

Crystal , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Sure! I’m Crystal Conway. I am a mom and a brand influencer. I started doing content creation for hair, beauty, and lifestyle brands not to long ago. My journey for hair / makeup started back when I was in high school. Although at the time I was unsure of my career choices, that was something I love to do! I also stopped focusing on my career at the time due to me becoming a teen mom! I never gave up hope during those times & eventually I started back my passion about two years ago.

But It has been a journey for me because it has it’s pros & cons, but I never give up on myself. I’ve always stayed motivated because of my children, they give me faith!

My main thing I want my followers, future clients, brands etc, To know about me is that I am very hardworking, I am very driven, passionate about the career I strive for. This future life change means everything for me and my family.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One lesson I had to unlearn very gradually was the need to always aim for perfection. Growing up, I wanted to be the best and achieve the very best of life. As I became more aware of who I am and the value I can bring to the world, I started learning to trust the process more and not to worry myself so much about whether I achieved perfection. I realized that progression matters more than perfection.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

For me, The aspect of being creative is a learning process that continues for your entire career and life. Witnessing your own growth as an person is one of the most rewarding parts of being an creator.
