Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Crystal Cavitt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Crystal, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The path to connection, along with mental and emotional well being is non linear. “There are no maps of the change.” Our journey is unique but we are not alone. Learning consent, and the language of boundaries and self care are the formula for change and the foundation for growth. We must love ourselves in order to love another.
…
Isolation is at an epidemic level. Suicide rates have increased by 36% between 2020 and 2022 with a person committing suicide every 11 minutes according to the cdc. (https://www.cdc.gov/suicide/facts/data.html) These sobering facts do not properly convey what it feels like to be lonely. They do not elaborate on the long term consequences of participating in toxic language and/or habits alone, in partnership, and among family members. We are taught to people please, to accept touch from family members, and to forgo our needs for the job, partner, or community with little understanding of the balance that’s needed to maintain physical and emotional health.
My mission statement has been percolating internally throughout my many years, not only as a professional cuddler, but throughout my time as a human traversing toxic patterns and behaviors. My intention is to promote and educate the language of safe touch and consent. To honor boundaries and lead by example. To increase the understanding of what self care can look like for an individual, for a partnership, and for a community.

Crystal, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Crystal has been building community here in Pittsburgh and practicing the art of platonic touch for over 7 years. As a student of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, and with a passion for personal development, she has completed multiple trainings via Cuddlist, Cuddle Sanctuary, and Certified Cuddlers for her one on one practice. She has also completed facilitator training from Cuddle Sanctuary and Authentic Revolution and is able to navigate groups in consent, boundaries, and communication.
Her leadership style and coaching come from a place of compassion and peace. Crystal is a current student of Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, and has been a student of multiple martial arts throughout her life, earning a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Her dedication to self discipline, self compassion, self love, balance, and mindfulness allow her to be present for her clients and offer a co-creation of safety and empowerment.
Crystal offers sessions for individuals, couples, private groups and public events coaching mindfulness, intimacy, and boundaries. She offers acceptance for who you are at this very moment. Crystal is here to challenge the status quo. She brings gratitude and mindfulness to every interaction. Her work traverses shadow and light, and she enjoys connecting with clients that are struggling with how to ask for touch, create boundaries, or connect with their partner.
My entry into the cuddle industry came via a string of toxic and self destructive patterns. Not completely understanding boundaries and self love, I felt compelled to find my path in healing others. Only to discover that I would remain the student throughout this journey.
A session can look like anything. We can eyegaze or talk. Have tea. Engage in platonic touch.
There is no touch required.
I study the mind, the psyche, and the soul. With hopes to heal mine and others. I am a student of love. A vessel of hope. I proclaim optimism, obliquity, and forgiveness. And I am grateful to challenge your status quo. I bring balance and light, but not without change. My name is Crystal. I am a ball of joy.
If you’re looking for acceptance and appreciation for who you are now… right this very moment, you’ve come to the right place. It takes courage and an open mind to reach out, to take the first step. I applaud you and look forward to sharing space, gratitude, and mindfulness.
I coach consent, connection, boundaries, and self care for singles, couples, groups, and events. I offer a safe space and an open heart to be present for your healing.
Trust yourself as you follow the path towards connection and fulfillment.
I work out of a safe space in the south hills of Pittsburgh, and I also have a space in Sharpsburg, PA, where you can relax and enjoy cuddle therapy in a professional environment. I honor experienced and long term clients’ needs with in-home sessions and will make accommodations for disabilities and can make accommodations for transportation issues. (with gas and travel fees for mileage over 25 miles from the city limits) I have no cancellation fee. Nor any consultation fees. I honor sessions between 30min and 5 hours at the cost of $200 per hour. I honor sessions between the hours of 8am and 10pm. I honor sessions requested at least 48 hours in advance, and prefer a request at least a week in advance.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Authentic Marketing and leading by example and self evolution

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn a societal conditioning that sex = love, touch = sex, and intimacy and sex are equal.
The backstory is that i witnessed the above throughout my life in all of my parental figures, media, and peers.
